One form of culture that has fascianted many people for the past few years has been Norweigen Black Metal. There are many different sects and subcultures to this strange way of life. This culture, like many others, is based on religion, music, and human sacrifice. There are many factors that affect this culture and how it works. In the mountains of Norway, where the weather is cold many of this cultures people reside. The snowy weather plays a large part in the demonic attitudes of the tribe members. These cult-like people are very isolated from the rest of the world, and consequently very different from the rest of the world. The moral’s of Black Metal people are definitly very different from ours here in America. Although they are “governed” by the Norweigen state, the authorities can’t control the groups up there in the mountains too well, so anarchy rules more than force. Drug use is encouraged to bring oneself closer to death. Killing people is not frowned upon, as it is here. If Black Metal folk decide someone deserves to be killed, they will be killed without much to say about it.The religion of Black Metal culture can not be summed up by one definition.
Much of the beliefs stem from ancient Satanism, where worship of the devil (the evil counterpart to Christianity) is encouraged. Paganism is also very evident in the mix. Many of the prayers and religous ceremonies could be considered Witchcraft as well. Reguardless of what religion Black Metalites support, there is generally one religion they all are against: Christianity. This is documented by all of the church burnings in the area. The religous views of Black Metal peoples are very strong and play a great role in the most important part of Black Metal, the music.Black metal music is a strange type of (usually) religious music. Although not all Black Metal songs are about religion, most of them have to do with either death, blood, rats, or something that ties in with either satanism, paganism, witchcraft, or evilness in general. This music is usually played with a few heavily distorted guitars, a bass, deep vocals, and maybe a violin or a synthesizer. Black Metal is a lifestyle, not just a type of music. Many people just look at this culture for it’s crazy music, but it’s really much more than that. Norweigen Black Metal people are dead serious about their beleifs, despite what many people around the world think. Black metal music is a force to be reckoned with.
