PANDEMICS AND NATIONAL SECURITY According to Wikipedia, there are must three preconditions for the danger of pandemic spread to become actual: the population does not have historical immunity against the new disease, the prolonged incubation period of disease, the highly contagious properties of the disease. Throughout the history we witnessed several pandemics that occurred mainly in Europe and Asia. All of them took a heavy toll onto the native population, sometimes even bringing the whole civilizations to the brink of extinction, like during the time when epidemic of bubonic plague resulted in death of half of the population in Europe, during the Dark Ages. The Americans have been fortunate to be separated by the oceans from the other continents. This severely limits the chances of pandemic situation rising in U.S. Nevertheless, with the development of air and sea transportation, the danger of some unknown disease attacking our people in swift and lethal manner rises very rapidly.
We have all heard of outbreaks of bird flu in China. So far, it did not result in the massive casualties among people, yet we have to remember that the main danger of epidemics that are caused by viruses lies in the fact that the virus itself continually evolves, causing the disease to whether become even more deadly or to simply stop posing danger to people. There is always a chance that the method, with which the disease spreads itself, will change, thus making all the prevention measures against the spread of this particular disease ineffective. There are a few important facts that we need to remember, in order for our pandemic prevention measures to be more effective. First of all it is a fact that 90% of all lethal epidemics, throughout the history, had originated in Asia. This can be explained by the fact that the notion of sanitary is basically unknown in such countries as China or Mongolia. Therefore, the American customs must pay their foremost attention to goods and people coming from Asia. Also, our immigration policy needs to be adjusted, so that we allow less people from Asia to settle in America.
The Term Paper on Pulmonary Tuberculosis Disease Infection People
What is Tuberculosis, and how serious is this problem? TB, or Tuberculosis, is a chronic or acute contagious disease caused by a bacterial infection. TB is the leading cause of death from a single infectious disease, accounting for over a quarter of avoidable deaths among adults. It can affect several organs of the human body, including the brain, the kidneys and the bones, but it predominately ...
This is because they tend to accumulate in their own enclaves in the big cities, so called Chinatowns, where the sanitary standards are much lower than anywhere else in the country. This creates the danger of epidemic actually originating in America. When it comes to insuring the public safety, all considerations of political correctness must be brushed aside. The second – it is utterly inappropriate to allow foreign companies to operate our ports, especially the ones from Arab countries. The bubonic plague was brought to Europe by rats in the merchant ships from the Middle East. Are we stupid enough to allow the chances of the same thing happening here, because some politicians consider that it is unfair to treat people differently, because of their ethnic background? The actuality of this question becomes especially acute in the time when Muslim terrorism has announced war on America.
The CIA is strongly convinced that Russia still possesses the bacteriological weapons. In the light of our continuously worsening relations with this country, the scenario of some artificially created diseases being smuggled here, cannot be considered as pure hypothetical. The third – Americans must all be the subjects of vaccination, regardless of their financial status or beliefs. It is the comprehensive vaccination program that will guarantee Americans being protected from pandemics, on biological level. The social policy of multiculturalism caused the situation when many new immigrants from the Third World countries refuse to have their children vaccinated, while they are in school. They refer to their cultural traditions, to justify that. In my opinion, this cannot be tolerated, because it is not only them that will be negatively affected by their stupidity, but the whole American society, in general.

The same applies to various religious fanatics, like Jehovah Witnesses, who consider vaccination to be sin against God. Also, all the proposed measures to insure the security of public health in America, must be applied as complex. We cannot afford taking one measure, while allowing the loopholes for the deadly diseases to find its way to this country, because of our politicians care more about the votes they get at elections than the well being of Americans.
