The goals that I have set for myself are very simple, I set them when I started my first year at Ultimate Medical College to obtain my Associates Degree, I plan to follow the simple but more strategic rules for my Bachelor’s Degree.
I promised myself that nothing will get in the way of my studies of being able to learn, that is the one thing that I value and have done my best to instill it in my children and now with my grandchildren. I take my education very seriously and value it wisely. I want to prove to the medical field that I am and can be a great asset to them. I love working with people of all ages, disabilities, or non-disabilities; helping with everyday decisions that may influence their lives only if they do not have anybody else to look towards for the help.
As a teenager in high school I took a nursing class and was able to be hands on with patients and see their everyday needs and wants. Whether it was a bath, feeding them, or just to sit and talk or read them a story they were the important ones in the situation. I always found that I was somebody to them, even if they had nobody or had family that just would not find the time to come and visit because of their so called busy life.
Being in the medical profession, you need to be honest with yourself and with others, treat the patients with respect to gain their respect you can’t show favoritism or leave them to fend for themselves, never ignore them. You will learn that in life that all people of all ages can be in a nursing home and need the attention, you just need to be able to show them that you are able to help them with the understanding that their life is just as important as yours.

The academic part of my major will help me understand that there are many fields in the health care profession, that are desperately needing doctors, nurses, home health care aids and providers that help us learn more and work harder to obtain all the knowledge that I possibly can to be able to be the best at what my employer expects me to be. I want to be able to be the person that people look up to when complaints are being met when things go wrong and how fast that they get solved or how well service is given when new patients are being treated. In the end I want to be able to make myself proud and my family as well as the professors that took their valuable time and effort time to teach me what I wanted so badly to learn. This will be something that I can be proud of the rest of my life and hopefully my grandchildren will follow in my footsteps. As I stated when I first started college, “I will not be a failure to anybody.”
