We shall now explore the possible benefits that cloning could bring to all of us. There are many ways in which in which human cloning is expected to benefit mankind. This new technology could be the beginning of a new medical era where organs can be produced in mass quantity leaving the suffering of many that are awaiting an organ transplant of some kind or have suffered sever burns causing disfigurement. In these cases new organs or skin could be produced that could be used to replace the damaged organ or skin.
Why should another child die from leukemia when if the technology is allowed we should be able to cure it in a few years time?
There are so many opportunities that could be taken to make so many people’s lives a more enjoyable, longer and happier experience.
I will now go on to talking about the possibilities of cloning and also give a couple of scenarios for you to think about that should open your mind and views on such a delicate and often strongly opposed subject.
Dr. Richard Seed, one of the leading researchers of human cloning technology has said that it may someday be possible to reverse the ageing process due to what we have learned from human cloning. While it sounds nice that someday it maybe possible to live forever there is a problem with it, the world is already getting over populated so maybe this isn’t such a benefit, but none the less some would believe this is.

For example world leaders could be preserved as a living person and carry on doing their job that they excel in so much.
Reversing heart attacks
This is something that has already been tried out in living humans today, basically cloned heart cells are injected into the damaged areas inside the heart. Once done the theory is that the new cells will repair or take the place of the damaged cells regenerating the tissue and muscle and thus making the risk of heart failure much lower. Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States and is also a large killer here in the UK.
Plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery
If we are able to clone human cells for the heart it could and will eventually be possible to produce other tissues that matches the patient’s tissues exactly eliminating the risk of the body rejecting the cells. For example at the moment for a woman to have cosmetic surgery to enlarge her breasts it involves introducing a foreign material into the body, a bag of silicone. By using natural tissue to do this instead silicone it eliminates the risk of silicone gel leaking into their bodies or the other problems that occur with present day plastic surgery. Victims of terrible accidents that deform the face will be able to have their features repaired with new, safer, technology. Limbs for amputees could also be regenerated giving them a second chance of a ¡¥normal¡¦ healthy life with all their limbs attached and working as new.
Defective genes
The average person carries 8 defective genes inside them. These defective genes allow people to become sick when they would otherwise remain healthy. This can range widely from preventing heart disease, cancer, loss of hearing, bad eye site, downs syndrome, liver failure, leukemia the list is almost infinite. With human cloning and its technology it may be possible to ensure that we no longer suffer because of these defective genes.
spinal cord injury
Its also been stated that it may also be possible to regenerate the nerve cells that carry electrical signals between the brain and all the limbs of the body. Quadriplegics bound to wheelchairs such as Christopher Reeves could once again walk after having their damaged or broken spinal cords regenerated.
The Term Paper on Cell Components part 1
Cell Components Let's imagine clouds of cold fog billow up through a circular hatch in the top of a stainless steel tank as a biologist pulls out the lid and its one-foot thickness of styrofoam insulation. As the fog rolls down to the floor, Hay peers into the dark tank, where the temperature is all the time 321 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. It is kept so cold because that is a temperature at ...
These are just a few of the benefits that could one day be possible through cloning.
The scenario
I’ll now move on to a real life scenario that could happen to anyone of us here today, this is a scenario only cloning could rectify. Meaning the difference between living in misery and living a happier life then the one that was accidentally brought onto you by a simple mistake.
You have just graduated University and have gone to a party after the graduation ceremony. As the night carries on you decide to jump into the pool fully clothed as a spur of the moment act whilst joking with some friends. You dive in head first thinking that you’re at the deep end but your not. In only 4 feet of water you break your neck and become a quadriplegic. A year later you have your first urinary tract infection because of having to use a catheter and from then on your life gets worse. A year later, due to the catheter you come down with herpes zoster of the trigeminal nerve and suffer unbearable pain for the rest of your life. Had cloning not been banned due to fear of illicit use you may have had a life regenerating operation that repaired your damaged spinal cord and allowed you to once again have full control of your body giving you a higher quality of life as a result.
