In 1890-1920 the Progressive era diverse political bacgrounds to join to change in american society. Reformers pusher for political and labor reforms, like womans suffarage, enviromental protection, workers right, and chil labor. Our government improved the american country by ending chil labor, improving our meat factory, and regulating monopoly. Child labor, meat inspection, and monopolys, were a big deal in the progressivee era. Kids worked in factorys, some at the age of five most under the age of 15. Some kids work full time and some bit of energy that they had left after work went to school.

The meat factorys were a discusting place to be, people who work there did not wash there hands,they didnt waiste time to go to the restroom to wash there because time was money so they just pee on the corner and continue working. When the workers seen the rats on the meat they didn’t hesitate to take the rats out so they would get shreded up with the meat. Some of the meat had mold so what they would do is just scrape it of and say it was good meat to sell.
Monopolys were horrible when it came to other companies. Some of the companies lower there product prices where other companies could not compete with the price so what would happen is that those companies would close down and the companies that were winning would hire there prices and sell witthout competition. John Rocketfeller was the creator of oil monopolys he lowered his prices to the point where his competition was out and he controlled 90 percent of the oil industrybut still donated millions to charitable causes.
