Project ProductWe intend to revamp and redevelop a former playground for the Conrad Fischer Elementary School and local community. The necessary steps to do this will include at least a minimum of 50 volunteers in order to complete the new playground within a week’s period, working Monday through Monday. We will use new items and recyclable material, while still following school, city, and playground guidelines. The project itself will create a playground on the school grounds of Conrad Fischer Elementary School, but will serve as the neighborhood playground with a neighborhood entrance. We will be using new equipment, recyclable equipment, and mainly plastic equipment.
We will use Cedar wood chips for older children’s playground and rubber matting for the younger children’s playground. We will use a local community gardener to plant new flowers and plants. We will use volunteers to place the equipment. A contractor however, will be hired to repave an old basketball court. At the end of the project the playground should be able to serve in a safe manner the lower and upper elementary classes of Conrad Fischer, as well as the local neighborhood children and parents. The playground will also be able to serve all levels of care with children. ADA guidelines will be met to give a safe and happy place for all children to play.

DAY 1: Clearing weeds and old vegetation, measuring area for older kid’s playground, digging hole for older kid’s area. DAY 2: Repavement of basketball court, measuring for sidewalk path. DAY 3: Laying out cement for sidewalk, planting new flowers, plants, and bushes, setting up new basketball hoops. DAY 4: Lay down rubber mats for all kid’s playground, start placing swings and towers for older kid’s playground, place balancing areas in younger kid’s area. DAY 5: Place monkey bars and slides for older kid’s playground, place swings and tubes for younger kid’s area, place safety plastic pieces on all equipment DAY 6: Place monkey bars in younger kid’s area, place wheels and musical items on younger kid’s equipment, paint all equipment, place gazebos and benches for parent’s area. DAY 7: Place sand and water tables, place stack blocks, place bridges on outer areas. DAY 8: Allow for any extra tasks, but mainly for inspection.

Project Assumptions The assumption on which the project is based is the fact that the Project Manager will make sure all city and school guidelines are met once the project is done. Project ConstraintsThe only constraint is the limited time we have the volunteers for, only consistent eight hour days. That constraint leads to the main constraint that we have to finish the project by the finish date. Exclusions * The playground will be built by the community. In doing the Community Build this process saves up to 30% of the cost of the playground. * To save on the landscaping cost we will find out if there is a neighbor that does gardening to save on the money to hire a landscaping company. * Playground will be operational from Dawn until Dusk
Acceptance Criteria The playground must be able to serve children ages 4-12, children with disabilities, and meet all required guidelines of the school and city inspectors.
