Marketing is an important area in any company. Integrated marketing is an area of the marketing world. This type of marketing can increase brand value and this allows for a high turnover on the company’s investments. We will review a company and describe the purpose and value of integrated marketing, as well as showing what value the plan adds to the company. Trends are always changing in the marketing world. It is important for companies to stay up to date on new trends in the marketing world. To stay up to date on these trends integrated marketing must take place and that allows for companies to keep up with the expansion of the different marketing channels which includes internet, media and print and all of these are done through communication. “Integrated marketing communication is the encompassing of all marketing tools, avenues, and sources within an organization into one program at a minimal cost that will shape the way customers buy”(Clow & Baack, 2007).
The company we will be discussing is Apple, Inc. In order for this company to reach an optimal return on investment they utilized the practices of integrated marketing. This allowed Apple, Inc. to achieve their goals and made them very successful. Web design, advertising, digital marketing are promotional tactics that Apple has enhanced. This in return can bring in more customers when they see the different types of marketing that is available to them. They also have reached high levels of customer relations and in return gave them prosperity with the industry. Because of the integrated marketing Apple has increased sale volumes and return customers. This makes Apple, Inc. one of the biggest profitable companies not only in the United States but also in several other countries. Without having a marketing plan in place the company will not be able to reach goals and objectives such as breeding a brand with substantial value within the industry, and good customer relations to generate a high level of incomings. Apple has done well in focusing on the customer’s needs and wants as it is related to the quality of the product or service as well as price. “Apple uses promotional and advertising tools to capture the attention, interest, and desire of the consumer. Apple captures our attention and interest through innovating and sleek imagery of their products on Apple’s official website as well as keynotes and other publication” (Villefranche, 2011).
For example Apple just released the I phone 5 which was highly anticipated and the publicity that Apple had prior to the release was tremendous and also brought in many new customers. It has been said that the first weekend the I phone 5 was available they sold 5 million phones.
Apple made a plan and set up objectives and goals that they desired. Through integrated marketing they have met those goals and it allows for them to set higher goals and reach them as well. Apple also knows their competitors very well and this allows them to be in this market and compete very well. Communication is an area that all companies must value. If a customer has a need or want they must be able to communicate that to the company. This will allow the company to achieve optimal satisfaction with their customers. This will be beneficial to the company because with optimal customer satisfaction they can assess the placement they have in relation to competition and new customer that they can bring in. The marketing plan helps the company to build the foundation for the brand and protect the products reliability. An asset to business activities is integrated marketing.
