Here we are together and united celebrating one of the most crucial events throughout history – Black History Month. I am so thankful to be here, not only to view this wonderful moment, but to share this unreplaceable moment where everyone is equal and are all for one, one for all.
Right now in this moment, believe it or not, us as a whole are living someone’s dream as Martin Luther King once had a dream that we all will be united without being judged by our race and be equal, as he once said: ‘I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. ’ His dream has some sort of been fulfilled – we are here together from different countries all over the world in one place, celebrating and amazing event together.
Though we are here together for the main reason of black history month caused by racism, throughout the world racism is still a serious issue that faces society today. There are many types of racism, for example racism because of skin colour, birth place, religion etc and all these have one thing in common.
All kinds of racism are dreadfully despicable and create a negative and sometimes a dangerous, emotional response. Those who do not fully understand what racism means and the effect of racism, racism is awful and many might not know but racism does not only leads to social problems, but in severe cases it causes mental illness and violence such as: self-harm, depression and harming others around.

The other effect is that it causes the innocent victim to feel worthless, as though their worth only a penny, and also causes them to feel depressed and angry leaving them emotionally wrecked. As racism already causes social problems, mental illness, violence, emotionally ripped apart; racism in most severe cases indicates to suicidal thoughts and are usually occurred by a young teenager. That is someone’s life gone – no one needs to die young due to racism.
If racism causes a brutal effect, why do people be racist? It’s simple. People need to understand to accept the fact that there are people from all around the world – different race, different religion, and different skin colour. What does it matter? We are all equal and everyone is unique in their own way. The world would be a better place with racism excluded. Equality is all that matters.
