Do you judge someone by the color of their skin? If you would say yes you might be considered racist. Both the story a ‘Open Letter to a Negro,’ and the movie Long Walk home deal with racism and the characters share a common goal to stop the racism. Luz Long and Miriam Thompson were very a like. They both could see past skin color and like a person for how they are in the inside or compete against someone just because they are a good athlete. Miriam helped Odessa and did not care what people thought about her. Luz Long respected Jesse owens because he was a great athlete, and Jesse respected Luz not because he was a nazi but because he was a great long jumper.
But for both Miriam and Luz was hard for them because racism was everywhere and they could not stop it but that doesn’t mean they wanted racism. Odessa Carter and Jesse Owens were very much a like. They both stood up for what they believe in and tried to stop the racial situation. Odessa tried to stop by participating in the boycott and not riding the buses even if it meant to walk to work which was clear on the other side of town. Jesse tried to show african-americans that it was possible for a black man to go to the Olympics and achieve a gold medal and not caring what anyone thought proved that he was just as good as any white man. The white supremacy and the Nazis are the most a like out of anyone.

The white supremacist and the Nazi hated anyone that was not part of the white race. They would kill anyone who would disagree with them or even look at them cross eyed. They both wanted the whole World to be full of whites, they wanted white power and would do anything to get it. The Nazis and white supremacy both looked up to Adolph Hitler like he was some kind of god but he wasn’t. They loved it when Hitler walked on Jesse Owens at the Olympics and looked up to him for doing so. Not only did the Nazis and white supremacist kill blacks but they would even kill white for liking blacks.
