In the era of rapid social and technological changes leading to increasing of life complexity, more and more differences among ideas, individuals and groups occur with the increasingly rapid pace of life. Many people said they have been so encouraged by society to focus on apparent differences that they fails to see meaningful similarities. However, in my opinion, I believe that though society encourage people to focus on apparent differences, it does means that it blocks people to see meaningful similarities among ideas, individuals and groups.
No one can deny that there are much more apparent differences among ideas, individuals and groups, especially in modern society with rapid pace of life. Technologies and knowledge change so fast that impel us to reconsider some views about something. Focus on apparent differences can promote the development of society. New ideas and new knowledge are all results from differences among ideas, individuals and groups. If there is no difference, how can those novelty inventions and new knowledge came out which benefit our society a lot. A society without differences among ideas, individuals and groups seems like a stagnant water, it can not make progress and the only result is to go to doom and be superceded by history. A society want to make progress should pay attention to apparent differences among its population, it can find fresh ideas and new inventions among these differences and be benefited from them.

Focus on apparent differences do not blocks people to see meaningful similarities among ideas, individuals and groups. Difference will lose its meaning if not use the concept of similarity as comparison. On the country, finding out the differences will promote people to pay attention to the similarities among them. It will inspire people to reconsider their similarities again to see how the differences came out. A society can not make progress if there is no consensus among its people. If society blocks people to see meaningful similarities among them, how can society can survive in a havoc status which no consensus?
