Religion in the historical context have always been something that lead people to pursue certain goals and gave them faith and confidence in personal development and progress. Though there were times when faith was overused by power-abusive and corrupted authorities in their own purposes resulting in inhumane and useless human deaths and mistreatment, if the basis of the main religions were carefully studied one would clearly notice that these religions foundations were designed particularly to improve targeted nations or human groups life by giving them a strict set of moral, political and spiritual guidance which if interpreted correctly would result in the improvement of human communication and relationships overall. Including the study of the main religions of the world in the school curriculum would give students a better understanding of other societies around the world and lead to a greater appreciation and less misunderstanding over the culture and faith issues. Right now the most widely practiced religions include Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. All they originated in different societies and under different cultural context, resulting in multiple differences in the explanation of the world basis, standards of human relationship and life goals each person should have in their life. The academic studies of these aspects would be healthy for our young society overall as it would learn and start understanding that there are no particular mindsets in this world which are totally morally right to believe in and that people who practice other views are not outsiders in modern world.

It is very well known that our history in the past times was mostly driven by religious foundations and art, music and science have developed mostly because of human self-explorational, religious pursuit. Studying particular periods of historical development with the religious background to them would give a clearer and broader view for the students and sometimes open up the real motives influencing some art and historical period. Studying world religions without a particular devotion to a certain faith is very important in our society today as our worlds tendency of increasing multicultural trade and art relationships is getting stronger. To fully appreciate and understand something born in a different culture one should be able to realize under what cultural context this trait was born. Understanding other peoples faith is very important as it would eliminate the racial and cultural prejudice one of the major factors limiting transnational communication and cooperation..
