Being believers in God gives people a sense of superiority, in-turn leading them to think they have the right to judge others. Throughout the course of history, God, a higher being or just religion in it’s self has always been a part of life, in families, communities, cultures and countries. Whether people are believers or just onlooker of a certain religions and their customs, religion is a way and apart of people lives, in past generations and is now even more so in contemporary society. But, has religion taken a hold of people lives? Has being a certain denomination shaped who some people are, their personalities, morals, thoughts? Has religion become a way in which to make one feel superior to another? Whether religions in any of those things, it doesn’t change the fact the religion is one of those matters that will always be controversial and diverse. In Hamlet and The crucible all of these things have come into account, But in the crucible it is much more disperse upon the community amounts families. God or religion has been around for thousands of years. People who are of a certain religion all believe in a higher power, someone more superior and larger than anything else on earth.
But who and how they praise is one factor, but the way in which it impacts there lives is another in the race against time to find what religion is true. Christianity, Buddhist, Hindu and many more are religions that have been around for years, and now days they are still a hype, but there are more contemporary religions such as the Satan church and the church of scientology that have been incorporated through time. All of these religions have morals and certain traditions that affect there lives whether they like it or not. But religion in the end is a choice, this leads me to ask if it is a choice, why do people become so consumed, that when they want to get out ,it seems to all become to overwhelming and in-turn people feel chocked and trapped in a certain denomination. In ‘the crucible’ by Arthur miller, this type of behaviours has very much had a light shined on it, through a character (Abigail Williams) who was brought up in a Christian family, her Uncle (Rev Parris) is a pastor and the town/community she lives in is submerged and taken over by Christianity. This, in-turn would have meant that to not be a Christian, when your family and the community that you lived in is, would be frown upon.
The Essay on Science Vs Religion People Life One
SCIENCE VS. RELIGION One of the most important dichotomies that make us stop to think is religion and science. A dichotomy that started in the renaissance, a period when people started questioning, looking to other horizons, other than religion. Before this period the church held back all previous writings that compromised the power of the church. Knowledge in science was set free. Now people ...
But is this what made Abigail Williams who she was , a liar, thief, murderer, whore. It is religion that put 19 people to death? Through this play Arthur miller has shown us, that religion is very much a factor that caused Abigail to become what she did. Was Abigail so chocked by what she was made to believe in, did she see through people like (Parris)? and find no escape from superficiality, was it because she was the only one that could see through being a pastor Rev Parris considered himself higher than everyone around him including Abigail and through Parris thinki ng he was superior, was Abigail the only one who saw how muc! h he and many other Christians in the town judged others. Was is Christianity in it self that turned Abigail against the world or was it how people manipulated religion to make it work for themselves that forced Abigail to run from all that seemed right and pure. I would define a Christian as somebody with morals who is generous, kind, thank-full, self-sacrificing and loving. You have to ask yourself, do you see any of those in Rev Parris? Is he generous? Not at all (wood), and anybody that insists that they have pure gold candles rather than painted candles in a church the house of God who dose not care for materialistic things.
The Essay on Terrifying things people do (ideas)
As you probably know the writing of an essay is to gauge the writers creative ability and to assess the fluency of their mind and its properties to assimilate within actions and sounds their take and acknowledgement of the world around them. In such confines your wish to project the panoply of Depression is both brave and challenging. If one had a coin for every time you have heard the sufferer' ...
Self- sacrificing and loving, it is quite clear that Rev Parris only loves himself he doesn’t ever show real love for his daughter, would Rev Parris give up his life for another? For John Proctor, although it is understandable and justifiable by us a human beings, but as a Christian a pure, non-superficial man like Proctor, when he cared about his name and how people would see him and what they would think about him, showed that he was very self-righteous. Because, once your in heaven with God, if you truly believe in God should you not disregard anything that happens on earth even things a petty, superficial and materialistic as ‘your name’? Now days because religion is more of a choice than a tradition and way of life, it doesn’t mean that there is not a numerous amount of superficial Christians who care about the sleeves than anybody else. But, Witch hunts would not happen nowadays because we don’t take our beliefs so dramatically and strictly. But, one thing that is the same in contemporary society and the past is the way the religion becomes a person. Those who are so engulfed in the belief tend to switch off and through their belief there personalities are shaped because they act and do things that they feel are right and acceptable by their religion.
