How does your academic performance and General Weighted Average (GWA) affect you on passing the battery examination? The first question asked the participants to explain how their general weighted average affects their academic performance in order to pass the battery exam. Table 1. Participants responses on their personal opinions about their performance in passing battery exam Participants
Responses
1
“The GWA is extremely important because it comprises the sixty percent of result of the exam. A high GWA indicates a sure pass for battery examination on my opinion and in my case.” 2 “It makes me more confident that I’m going to make it to medical technology proper. It is really important for me to do well in my academic performance and GWA because that will really help me to place a higher rank.” 3
“In the overall results, it greatly affected my standing in the ranks of passers. But passing the actual battery exam is different thing and does not involve your grades.” 4 “The GWA is sixty percent of the qualifying exams, so if you got a high GWA there is a high probability that you will pass the battery examination.” 5 I seriously studied on my subjects and it affects a lot on the result of my battery exam because sixty percent of the result comes from the GWA, and forty percent comes from the battery exam.” 6 “Sixty percent GWA and forty percent battery exam. There’s a really great chance of passing if you did well in your first and second year academic performances that contributed in your GWA.”
The Term Paper on The Factors Affecting The Students Performance
ABSTRACT The performance of the students in academics is not only influenced by their own characteristics gifted by the nature but also various factors are involved in these achievements. For the economic and social development of the society, it is necessary to provide our children with the quality education. In recent years, most of the efforts have been made to search out the factors that can ...
The first participant stated that having a high GWA a sure pass for battery exams. The second participant said that the GWA help her to place her in a higher rank. The third participant sees that passing the actual battery exam is different thing and does not involve your grades. The fourth participant said that if you got a high GWA there is a high probability that you will pass the battery examination. Meanwhile, the fifth participant said the subject is one of the reasons in order to pass the battery exam. Finally, the last participant said that sixty percent GWA and forty percent battery exam. There’s a really great chance of passing if you did well in your first and second year academic performances that contributed in your GWA.
The participants expresses that the academic performance greatly affects the GWA of some medical technology students through the percentage of the battery exam and also the GWA in the pass two semester. It was stated that 60% will be coming from the GWA and the remaining 40% will be coming from the result of the battery examination. Participants also stated that their academic performances affected their overall ranking in the list of the students that passed the battery examination but does not greatly affect the probability or possibility in passing the battey examination. Generally, general weighted average in the last two semesters has greatly influenced in passing the battery examination because sixty percent of their grades will come from it, and only forty percent will come from the result of battery examination.
How did you prepare for the battery exam?
The second question asked the participants that on how they prepare in the battery exam. Table 2. Participants responses on their strategy in preparing for the battery exam. Participants Responses 1 “I focused on my weakness which is Introduction to Medical Technology. I didn’t study for other subjects and relaxed until the examination date.” 2 “I really studied hard and try to remember all our passed lessons from General Chemistry to Biochemistry, from Biology to Anatomy and Physiology. We did some group reviews which is very helpful.” 3 “Preparing for the exam is just like preparing for exams on each subjects, just study, pray, and refrain from doing unnecessary things like playing.” 4 “I scanned some of my notes and I also make sure that I have enough rest.” 5 “I prepare for the battery exam by studying one week before the battery exam.” 6 “Scanning and skimming the notes and summaries in each chapter of the books.”

Meanwhile, the fifth participant said that she studied in one week before the examination. Finally, the last participants stated that she scanned and skimmed her notes and summaries in each chapter of her books.
The participant’s expresses that the preparations included are studying all the notes in Chemistry and Biology subjects. Students must prepare atleast 1 week in reviewing their academic subjects and having enough and full rest before taking the examination for them to be relaxed and comfortable in answering all the questions in the battery examination. Some of the respondents stated that the techniques and preparations they have done are having group reviews, scanning and skimming notes and refrain from doing unessential things like playing from gadgets and other devices. Based on the responses, reviewing in each chapter of the book was a great help for refreshing memory in the subjects for the examination. Focus on the subject that you think you lack knowledge. Scanning and skimming the notes also is a great way to make sure you are ahead of the game and never worry about in the actual examination.
