Dhamoor Thindurt’s Article on the Rising Concern Over Red Meat is a very skewed viewpoint. He states many sources as he tries to prove his argument, but as one looks as these sources, they are in itself a biased opinion also, Thindurt does not use an unbiased source in his argument at all; of course, one does not expect him to.
Thindurt has stated that “eating meat is bad for business” if this business was so bad “for business” for lack of a better word, than the invisible market hand of the economy would have probably put this market out of business. The business is growing because there is more demand for it, it’s no bad for business, just the economy.
Secondly, Thindurt also says that killing another animal to eat it is immoral. But is it not true that killing another animal is just part of the food chain? Yes, it may not seem right to raise it in a captive space, but that was seen as a more efficient and more lucrative way of making money.
Lastly, there is also the taste factor. Sure we CAN eat soybean, but how does it taste? People like to eat things that taste good even thought it might not be good for them. If everything that was unhealthy was banned, then why not ban chocolate? Soda? Ice cream? Once they can make soybean taste like the red meat that I’ve grown accustomed too, and hope for, then sure, I will start eating soybean, but until then, pass me a hamburger (made from beef).
