In this case Robin Hood is leader of his band of men. They are leading a revolt against sheriff that started out as a personal vendetta but grew into something more. Their motto soon became take from the rich and give to the poor. Over the years Robin Hood’s group has steadily grown. While Robin Hood was pleased with this growth, he also had some reservations. Rodin Hood feels pressed to find a solution to the dilemma because the sheriff is becoming more organized and growing in power. Robin was also asked to join a conspiracy to release King Richard from jail. He must decide if this is an opportunity that will benefit him and his men. Problems:
One main problem was the rapid growth of the group. This problem, of too much growth, lead to a problem with the diligence of the men and their work ethic. -Disciplining the men was also becoming a problem because of the large numbers. -Food was one of the bigger problems because it was draining the funds rapidly. The game was running out so they were forced to purchase food at a great expense to them. -The travelers began to take the long way around the forest, so they would not be robbed for their goods. Issues:
-The Sheriff was becoming more organized and powerful and was beginning to bother the men. -Robin was looking for a way to get rid of the sheriff, short of killing him. This will be difficult because of the sheriff’s political connections. Recommendations:
-For the problem of the growth of the band Robin could place Will in charge of the men. They could develop a list of criteria the potential candidates would have to meet in order to join the group. This would also serve to make the band more exclusive. -For the problem of discipline in the camp, which Little John is in charge of, the leaders could get together and devise a list of activities that must be done daily such as maintaining neatness in camp. -For the problem of food and other necessities, Munch the miller’s son, could organize a party that would leave the forest in search of better hunting grounds every so often. Another solution to this problem would be to take a certain amount out of everyone’s pay to go towards a food fund.

I also think that the food should be ration; each man will get a certain amount of food, unless he wishes to go find his own food. -For the problems of the travelers avoiding them, they could make the path that they take more traitorous and difficult. This would for force the travelers back to the main path. -The issue of the sheriff becoming more organized and powerful could lead to the decline of the merrymen. They must come together as a group and become more organized. It would also be beneficial if Robin could gain some political allies of his own. They must find a way to outsmart the sheriff. One way to do this would be to modify his mission. Instead of just taking from the rich to give to the poor he should for freedom of the sheriff’s rule while returning the people’s money that was theirs. Justification:
Robin needs to reposition his whole campaign. The conflict is changing as is the resources that he has and he needs to make appropriate adjustment. If he were to fight for freedom from the sheriff he may be able to find more supporters as well as a cause that would lead to a productive end. Robin must understand that although his original plan of taking from the rich to give to the poor had honorable intentions, the situation has grown and so has the opponent. Steps need to be taken to keep up with the changes. Implementation:
For the implementation of the Recommendations, Robin must utilize his leadership team. All of the recommendations are reasonable and will offer stability as well as structure to the camp. William could be in charge of the forest and driving potential travelers towards the camp. He also should be updated with the sheriff’s new connections. Little John should have harsher discipline rules as well as chores that will keep the men busy and will also help them to stay on alert to the surroundings. Scarlock will be able to keep better track of finances. He also will be responsible for taking some of the men’s pay to go towards the food and other necessities during times when business is slow. Much will be in charge of rationing food and making sure that he sticks to the budget that is set before him. Other:
