The music genre of Rock, thought by some to be the devil’s music, to me is an inspiration and it helps me deal with situations going on in my life. If you listen to Rock you know what I’m saying, but by most people who do not, they are so put in there ways of believing that anybody even listening to it is a devil worshipper, or some drug addict and is out caste d because of what they listen to. That is totally arrogance and I for one am really serious about music and couldn’t see living without it. First of all, all of my favorite bands do not ever comment on Satan or anything dealing with evilness in their lyrics.
Secondly in modern Rock there aren’t too many druggies in the music business, if they are it’s in other genres that I don’t care to talk about. For me it’s not so much the lyrics of the song that can inspire me to do something, but also in how the guitarist hits the notes of his solo, or how the drummer leads them all in synchronization, or merely how the bassist wails away with his bass rhythm. But in all it’s how the music is presented and played that inspires me along with millions of fans around the world. For bands like Creed, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Candlebox, Queensr”y che, Live, and Silverchair, to name a few, the lyrics they write, the solos they play, the riffs they come up with and the feeling they get when they see 100, 000 people cheer is something unbelievable.
They play music not to persuade people into their beliefs, but more to express themselves and to put some hope into others lives that they might not have. Personally I have had many moments where I lay in bed listening to Creed and their songs have so much meaning and it changes the way I feel and I turn towards them, not as a God, but as a mentor and I take my life into my hands and I make something of it. A favorite lyrical phrase of mine is, “With arms wide open, under the sunlight, welcome to this place, I’ll show you everything, with arms wide open, now everything has changed, I’ll show you love, I’ll show you everything, with arms wide open.” That was the chorus to Creed’s song “With arms wide open.” Although it is about the lead singer Scott Stapp having his baby girl, it could have been interpreted into many positive things. I saw it as Creed saying no matter how bad it gets there is always somebody to lead you and give you comfort in life. And there are so many songs out there that give out positive messages there is no way Rock gives a bad influence to the young in today’s world.
The Essay on Window Washer Life Stanza Song
"When I fall" is a lyrical song written by Steven Page and Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies. It is about a window washer who is at a critical moment in his life. The song is structured in such a way that a progression and transformation is seen in the window washers troubles from worrisome to life threatening. The window washer is the persona of the poem, and in the first stanza he expresses a ...
Many parents are saying that their child is behaving bad because of Rock, or that they committed suicide because a Rock star said to in one of their songs. That is probably the biggest load of crock that I have ever heard in my life. I hate to blame the parents, but it’s not fair that parents can blow off responsibility onto musicians and say such accusations against people whom bring so much happiness into the lives of many. Now I’m not saying all music is peachy, but modern Rock, and pretty much all Rock made since the late 80 s have given nothing but positive messages and most bands are great role models.
And bands do not stop with their music, many bands have helped their community, or a charity, or donated to help cure diseases. Daniel Johns from Silverchair for example is an animal activist and will not take any part in the slaughtering or cruelty of animals, that includes eating any part of an animal, he is known as a vegan. } But like I said… Rock is very inspirational, almost 100% of people who like Rock and that I have asked have said that without music in their life there would be a huge hole that would need to be filled, and with music, more specifically Rock, they have become better people to society and feel they are better scholastically. People that don’t like Rock and always are complaining how it’s so bad and evil, if they would sit down and actually take a listen to a Creed song, or hear what Queensr”y che has to say about life and parenting, then maybe they would agree with me and this world could turn to the future instead of segregating each other on musical merits.
The Essay on Rock Vs. Classical Music
Rock music of today has turned to shit because of MTV’s TRL, the billboards, and Brittney Spears’s record sales have something to do with the size of her breasts. Rock music from the 70’s through today will be remembered for years, but it lacks the true timelessness of classical music. Classical music has beautiful harmonies that be appreciated for thousands of years. Modern rock ...
