How do you choose from the two options, roller-blading or roller-skating? Although the use of roller skates has become rather uncommon, by all means, it is still a good way to have fun and get exercise. On the other hand, roller-blades are modernized with today’s advanced technology and materials. Roller-blades and roller skates are very fun and good for exercise, but there are several differences between them, which makes it difficult to choose which way to skate. Since roller-skating developed first, it is appropriate to discuss the time eras and materials as well. In the late-70 s / early -80 s, roller-skating was amongst the most popular and attractive forms of having fun in discos. All night long, people would socialize while going around the rink in continuous circles.
This trend seemed fun and stuck around for some time. Though after the invention of the in-line skate, roller-skates seemed to have died out drastically, leaving this trend in the lead for popularity. When a California native decided to create a skate with wheels right down the middle of the bottom of a shoe, the invention of the roller-blade took storm. This person started something that took over in the mid-80 s and is the most popular form of skating today. The rapid modernization of today’s technology has embarked the roller-blade through numerous changes. This may explain why this form of skating is most popular of the two.
The Essay on Roller Skate Man Analysis
The poem “Roller Skate Man” by Raymond Souster is about a legless man who gets around on a block of wood strapped to roller-skates. The central purpose of this poem is to make people realize that the way disabled people are treated in society is wrong. That is because the author/narrator describes the man to be physically unappealing by using words such as: “shrivelled body”, “freak” and “big head ...
The roller-skate started out being something you keyed on the bottom of shoe. This soon passed and keyless entry evolved. You now had to tie them on. Since leather was rugged and tough, this material was more common on it is structure.
The sole purpose was to have shoes on wheels so essentially this was it. Once the in-line skates found to be faster, they took over. The material was something much more comfortable than leather. The idea was still to get from point A to point B, faster. The roller-blade definitely proved this point. Especially since the wheels were being molded from plastics.
Roller-blades are molded together after a heating and cooling process is put on it to be able to mold to the desired shapes. Physicists test and study them for maximum control, speed range, and durability. It is no wonder as to why the roller-blade is more popular. This would probably follow the first most obvious reason for the many differences. Which would be the structure differences between the roller-skate and roller-blade.
The second most is the material difference. This is obvious because of the eras in time and the modernized technology. After several differences of roller-blading and roller-skating have been discussed, they both are very fun and good for exercise when used. Those similarities make it difficult to choose which method of skating to use. In my opinion, roller-skating is and will always be the best way to have fun.
Even though they are not as popular nowadays, I predict that in the future, they will bring us better days. This is why it is best to roller skate.
