More so, the politicians were sluggish in responding to the epidemic because they assumed that the only persons that were vulnerable to the epidemic were the homosexual men. Thus, the government intentionally ignored the matter, since to them it was a quandary associated with the gay people. Reagan was overly reluctant to bring the AIDS issue to light and ordered the General Surgeon not to discuss it (Schultz, 2012).
However, the disease spread rapidly beyond the gay community and negatively affected the lives of numerous Americans. The government would later take therapeutic action against the epidemic.
On June 5, an official documentation of diseases became availed to the center of disease management and control. However, the first report documentation espoused it as pneumonia and Candida infections on gay men (Avert.org).
By this instance, there were approximately 40 formal reports of AIDS infections and thus most of these men succumbed to the epidemic within the initial 2 years of diagnosis. Additionally, tax reforms by President Reagan induced an economic growth that is evident in the USA dispensation to date. A notable economic flourish without recession occurred from 1983 to 1990. Moreover, President Reagan additionally invested in security on a nationwide basis, making the end of the cold war a reality. More so, Reagan’s protection spending cutbacks induced a direct impact on the governmental surpluses that are evident presently. Additionally, President Reagan inculcated numerous monetary reforms, pronounced tax cuts, ingenious financial policies, and market deregulation to bar inflation (Schultz, 2012).
Shortly after, there was the 9/11 attack that most believed Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist group, the Taliban, were the masterminds (History.com).
The Taliban practiced and planned their attacks from the Afghanistan dispensation. Moreover, some persons believed that the local government was a possible supporter of the unlawful groups and attacks on the USA.
