Academic Honors and Achievements
One of my main academic achievements throughout my years in high school is receiving honors or high honors ever marking period since 9th grade. To receive honors you need a GPA of a 3.35 or better and my highest GPA was a 3.7. My cumulative GPA is a 3.5787. Another achievement is receiving the Scholar-Athlete Award in 11th grade. The reason why I got this award is because I play varsity volleyball and had a GPA of a 3.4 or better.

Outside of School/Community Activities and Accomplishments
For four years, I volunteered as an assistant coach for West Haven Youth Girls Basketball. I volunteered to help out girls to gain and improve skills in basketball between the ages of 10-13 years old. Also, starting in sophomore year, I have worked in the building City Hall of West Haven for 2-3 years. I’ve experienced working in the departments of Assessors, Registrar for Voters, and City Clerks. All of my outside of school activities help me in many ways. They helped me develop leadership, communication skills, organization, and people skills.

I feel I should be selected as the West Haven Rotary “Student of the Month” is because of how my character has grown to be throughout my four years in high school academically and personally. My greatest strengths as a person and as a student are shown through my achievements and accomplishments. I am a dedicated and committed person to all of my responsibilities in and outside of school. I developed three characteristics that best describe me and why I should be selected.

First I consider being a hardworking individual. One of my proudest accomplishments is receiving honors or high honors in every marking period during my four years of high school. My grades maintain to be A’s or B’s all year and every year. My grades reflect my potential on getting into a good college. My hard work to earn those grades show that I put in a lot of effort, how organized I am, and how I never slack. Another characteristic is being well-rounded. I’m involved in many co-curricular activities and community activities. Some include volleyball, student council, video production, youth police academy, mock trial, and assistant coaching. Being involved help me grow into a better person. For example, by helping younger girls gain skills in basketball, I also grew up to be a more mature, sincere, and take responsibility. I developed leadership, people skills, and communication skills. Finally, I feel I’m a diligent person. I’m always in constant effort for school or other activities that I am involved in. The reason is because I want to accomplish my tasks and not quit. Another reason is because I’m always attentative to learn and persist to do anything to help. I like to be involved and go out of my way to help those who need it because I like to put others first.
In conclusion, I feel I deserve to be selected as the West Haven Rotary “Student of the Month”. My character gave me great strengths as a person and as a student to pursue my goals. The characteristics hardworking, well-rounded, and diligent will help me succeed in my future. My goals and ambition is to get into a good college and succeed in a long lasting career.
