I agree that Saddam is an evil dictator who killed and tortured many of his own people. That fact dose not excuse or forgive the Bush regime for telling us and the UN lies to justify it’s ousting of (not killing of) Saddam in order to take over Iraq oil. We had the opportunity to keep pushing Saddam into submission via UN sanctions but we wanted an excuse to get control of the only oil rich country in the Middle East that had virtually no support from its neighbors. Saddam was evil and stupid. He could have played ball with us but he refused! He lost; his people will now be under a US backed puppet regime that will sell off its oil to pay for getting rid of Saddam and to rebuild what the US destroyed.
We in the US will see no reduction in the price of gas. We here in the US will continue to pay (5 billion a month) for the war / occupation of Iraq with an inflated higher taxed economy and increased risk of terrorism. We have now given any Muslim terrorist an excuse to wage war on us. The best new jobs here in the US will be in the anti terrorism and homeland security fields.
Thru the actions of the Bush regime we killed and injured more innocent Iraq and intentionally bombed the offices of Al-Jazeera (the only independent Arab news agency in the world) killing two of their reporters! If any person in this country is stupid enough to want and go and kill other people in the rest of the world to protect my way of life here in the bubble, they deserve to die! WAR IS WRONG! I will be a happy to adjust my life style in order to help create a “level” playing field on our planet, where all people can live a dignified peaceful existence. Just to be clear, the Bush family came to power via old war money. “The Bush-Nazi connection began in the 1930’s when GW’s grandfather, Prescott Bush, and Prescott’s father-in-law George Herbert Walker, made fortunes in the Wall Street offices of Brown Brothers-Harriman. They were managing directors for companies funneling laundered money and strategic materials to Nazi Germany. These banks and shipping companies were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act when The US Congress characterized them as Nazi front organizations. ” web > web > web > web > I believe we the citizens of the US live in a protected “bubble” of freedom.

We employ others to maintain the bubble. We will never see the full extent of the damage our country and it’s polices inflict on the rest of the world because the media is controlled by the same corporations that reap huge profits while keeping us busy with “Laci Peterson” and “Monica Lewinsky”, the real issues are not being reported. Sure we got rid of Saddam, but we supported him for years and continue to train and support others just like him (that don’t happen to be sitting on top of 10% of the earths oil reserves) to commit the same and or worse atrocities. A good real life example of how our government continues to create the same kind of evil that Saddam perpetuated how we supported a military dictatorship in El Salvador instead of supporting the people. We taught the military in El Salvador to torture murder and rape their own people to suppress any chance of a true freely elected government. The media told the US public that we were helping to put down communist “Guerrilla” warfare.
We were really backing up our corporate interests that were exploiting the people of El Salvador. web > We are very lucky to be here in our protected bubble but at some point we will have to face the rest of a very angry world that we have exploited to maintain our power. The sooner we take actions to create a peaceful dignified existence for all humans on the planet the better off we will all be.
