A patient with schizophrenia has at least two of the following symptoms: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behaviour, and negative symptoms (Mulhauser 2008).
There are severe memory impairments that schizophrenia may bring. Impairment in semantic memory or memory related to the understanding of concepts and meanings exists in patients with schizophrenia. One study by Al Uzri et al suggests that failure by patients to provide the names of objects that they can recognize is a possible early sign of semantic memory impairment (2004).
But the most identifying feature of schizophrenia in terms of memory impairment is the distortion in episodic memory (LePage 2007).
Thus schizophrenics find it hard to recall accurately past event. In addition, they also show even more pronounced difficulties with projecting themselves into future events, but explanations for this are not yet available pending the results of future research (D’Argembeau 2008).
The Term Paper on Side Effect Schizophrenia Patient Schizophrenics
Schizophrenia, A splitting of the mind Dementia Praecox, the early term for schizophrenia was presented by Emil Kraepelin in 1898. Dementia Praecox included - dementia paranoids, catatonia and hebephrenia. Whilst these different entities are symptomatically very diverse, Kraepelin believed they shared a common core. According to Monti and Monti, sleep disturbance is common in people with schizophrenia. Insomnia is one of the sleep disturbances by those with schizophrenia. This is due to “presumed over-activity of the dopaminergic system” (2005).
In India, two people were psychologically healthy prior to taking meditation courses. After practicing meditation, they were diagnosed with schizophrenia and given appropriate medications. It is argued that meditation per se does not cause the symptoms of people schizophrenia. Rather, they are caused by the fasting, lack of sleep, and sensory deprivations in meditation courses (Sethi and Bhargava 2003)
.In conclusion, schizophrenia is a serious psychiatric problem, eating the productive years of many. There are many questions about schizophrenia that remain to be unanswered, and it appears that those answers may not appear any time soon. There are vast areas for research in this disorder alone, and it is hoped that many more people will help further the knowledge on schizophrenia and improve the lived of patients.

The Term Paper on Object oriented Database Management Systems
The construction of Object-Oriented Database Management Systems started in the middle 80's, at a prototype building level, and at the beginning of the 90's the first commercial systems appeared. The interest for the development of such systems stems from the need to cover the modeling deficiencies of their predecessors, that is the relational database management systems. They were intended to be ...
