DISCOVERING MY HERITAGE DURING THIS PROJECT I DISCOVERED A LOT OF THINGS ABOUT MY HERITAGE THAT I FEEL MAY HAVE BEEN VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME TO KNOW ABOUT IN THE FUTURE. FOR EXAMPLE, LEARNED ABOUT SOME DISEASES THAT RUNS IN THE FAMILY. I ALSO LEARNED ABOUT TRAGGIC ACCIDENTS THAT HAPPENED IN MY FAMILY. LAST I LEARNED ABOUT SOME IMPORTANT TWIST ON HOW I GOT MY NAME. THERE ARE TWO DEASES THAT RUN IN MY FAMILY WHICH ARE SICKLE-CELL ANEMIA THAT RUN’S ON MY MOTHERS SIDE OF THE FAMILY AND SICKLE-CELL FROM MY DAD’S SIDE. THIS TWO-DEASES ARE INHARRITED THREW GENETIC DEASES.
FORTUNATELY I DON’T HAVE A TRAC E OF THE SICKLE-CELL TRAIT, SYMPTOM’S OF THAT DEASES SHOW UP AS SMALL AS 5 MONTH’S BUT THERE IS STILL A CHANCE THAT I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF TRAGGIC TURNS ABOUT MY FAMILY’S HISTORY. WHEN MY GRANDMOTHER WAS JUST 6 YEARS OLD HER MOTHER DIED. SHE WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT HEADING TO THE STORE TO GET CHRISTMAS PRESENT’S FOR HER CHILDREN WHEN A WHITE TRUCK DRIVER RAN HER MOTHER OFF THE ROAD. WHAT MAKES THAT STOR EVEN WORST IS THAT HER MOTHER DIED CARRYING HER BABY THAT WAS TWO WEEKS DUE.
THEY WERE GOING TO TRY TO SAV E THE BABY BUT BOTH PARENTS’ WERE UNCONSUS. I ALSO FOUND OUT FUNNY THINGS ABOUT MY FAMILY. FOR EXAMPLE, MY MOTHER THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE A BOY. THE DOCTOR EVEN SAID I WAS GOING TO BE A BOY. SO THEY WERE GOING TO NAME ME JASON IVAN WHITE.
WHEN MY MOM GOT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM I CAME OUT HEADFIRST AND THE DOCTOR NOTICED I WAS A GIRL THREE-MIN. LATER. IT TOOK THEM A WEEK TO GET A NAME FOR ME! WELL DONE MOM!
