The Essay on Hannibal Silence Of The Lambs
Character Development Comparison/Contrast (BR 2) Sometimes help is where we least expect it. But when we find the help we are looking for, we will do anything for it. In Silence of the Lambs, Clarice Starling finds help in the form a serial killer, Dr. Lecter. He helps her in two ways, he helps her solve the case of a serial killer at large, and in the process forces Clarice to face her past, ...
Frederick Chilton the rules of the asylum, such as do not touch the glass, do not give Hannibal any pens or pencils, or no papers with paper clips, or staples in them. He stresses to her not to tell him anything about herself because Hannibal is an extremely wise man and can get into your head. She walks down to see Hannibal, and is amazed by the drawings that he drew, they where buildings in Florence which he drew with great detail from his memory. She showed him her FBI identification and he told her that she wasn’t really an agent because it expired in a week. He picked her apart right away by looking at her shoes and her way of dressing and said she was one generation up from white trash. He was displeased with her when she tried to give his a questionnaire from the headquarters. He said to her that the last person to go in there and question him was murdered by him, he said he ate their liver with fava beans and a nice keyante. She then left and some of the prisoners started going mad, he called her and she ran back to him. He said to go see one of his old patients Miss Mofet. She couldn’t find any record of a Miss Mofet so she looked into a storage company in Baltimore and found who Miss Mofet was.
The storage garage was paid in full for ten years. She had to jack the door up to get in. Once inside she found an old hearse and opened the back door to find a mannequin and a man’s head in a jar, which led her to believe that he was a transvestite. She went back to Hannibal and asked him if he killed him, but he didn’t. He then asked her about Buffalo Bill. He wanted her to bring him a case file on him, and she agreed. He told her that he will trade information on Buffalo Bill for information on herself, and she agreed. Clarisse went with Jack on a case which involved the first person that Buffalo Bill murdered and skinned. She had to analyze the situation and said that Buffalo Bill was a white male, at least 35 years of age who, liked to kill and skin overweight girls, but they didn’t know why, yet. As they examined the body, they took a picture of her mouth and found there to be a moth cocoon in her throat. She brought this piece of evidence to her friends and they told her that it was a moth from Asia. Coincidentally a cocoon of the same origin was found in the head of the so-called Miss Mofet.
The Essay on Buffalo Bill Cody William Wild
Buffalo Bill William Frederick Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, was born into an anti-slavery family. He had a rough childhood, but despite this hardship he grew up to be an adventurous wild west showman, and achieve many historical goals. On February 26, 1846, near the small town of Le Clair, Iowa, William F. Cody was born to Isacc and Marry Ann Cody. At the time William had two sisters, Martha ...
She went back to Hannibal to find out what this was all about. He would not talk until she told him about her childhood. She told him that her father was a cop and was killed by two robbers. She was orphaned because her mom died when she was very young. She moved in with her Aunt and Uncle on a ranch. She ran away shortly after that. Hannibal then told her that Miss Mofet was the lover of Buffalo Bill, who killed him and put the moth cocoon down his throat. Meanwhile, in Tennessee, Buffalo Bill struck again kidnaping the daughter of the Senator. He lured her into his van by saying he needed help lifting a couch into his van. He then knocked her out and cut her shirt down the back, which was his calling card. Clarisse and Jack thought of a plan to make Hannibal tell them where Buffalo Bill lived. Hannibal wanted to be moved to another prison where he had a window to look out of and books to read. She told him that the Senator was going to grant him that if he told them where Buffalo Bill lived. Chilton was listening in on them, and ratted them out to the Senator. They were thrown off the case. Chilton cut a deal of his own with the Senator, and Hannibal was ready to be moved to a new prison.
Clarisse went to visit Hannibal at his new temporary prison cell. She asked him where Buffalo Bill lived and he asked her why she ran away from the ranch. She told him that she woke up early in the morning to screams. She went to the barn and saw lambs being slaughtered. She tried to free them but they wouldn’t go. She tried to save one but it was too heavy. She told him that she still wakes up to the screaming of the lambs. The guards said she had to go and she grabbed the case file from Hannibal. He told her everything she needed was right there. After she left the guards brought Hannibal his dinner. He had to put his hands behind the bars to be handcuffed, but he had something in his hand. When the guards came in he took the cuffs off and killed both of them. He hung one from the prison bars and he skinned the face off the other one. He put the skinned face on to disguise himself, and was then put in the ambulance. Once in the ambulance he murdered the drivers and escaped nowhere to be found. Even though Clarisse was off the case she didn’t give up. Hannibal said, “We covet what we see everyday.” Clarisse and her friend figured out the first person that Buffalo Bill killed was someone he knew.

She went to that house and found out that the dead girl knew a lady that sewed professionally, and she went to that house. At the same time the FBI was at another house where they thought Buffalo Bill was. They broke into the house and found Buffalo Bill nowhere. Clarisse went to the house that the girl told her to go to. It was Buffalo Bill’s house. He answered the door and she came in and asked him some questions. He was gonna give her a card of the son of the prior owner of the house. She saw one of those moths fly by and her instincts told her this was Buffalo Bill’s house. She drew her gun and he ran into his cellar. She couldn’t find him down there, but found the Senators daughter in a hole in the ground. She continued her search for Buffalo Bill, who they now knew was Jame Gumb. She walked into a room, and he turned the light out. He snuck up behind her with a gun, and fired it, but it was empty. As soon as she heard the click, she turned around, fired and killed Jame. The FBI came and everything was all right. The Senators daughter was safe and Clarisse was safe. Clarisse ended up graduating, and became an agent. Jack congratulated her and told her that her father would be proud.
Someone called for her and she answered it. It was Hannibal. He said the world was so much more interesting with her in it, so she knew she was safe. He ended with saying he was going to have an old friend for dinner. The theme of the movie is self revelation. In this movie Clarisse sees herself as the little girl that she once was. She thinks back to when she was trying to save the little lamb from being slaughtered. Clarisse thinks of the Senators daughter as the little lamb. She is trying to save her from being slaughtered by Buffalo Bill. She feels that once she accomplishes this that she will no longer wake up in the middle of the night to the screaming of the lambs. The mood of this movie was on the lines of a thriller and detective story. The movie was very gory at times. It showed dead bodies that were skinned and left in the water for days. It also shows a lot of blood, such as the time that Hannibal bit the guard in the face and when he took the mask of skin off in the ambulance.

Clarisse had to find clues throughout the movie which led her to the elusive Buffalo Bill. Even though she was very smart, she would have never found Buffalo Bill without the help of Hannibal. He was the key between the murders and the murderer. There were two major symbols in the movie. The screaming lambs and the moth cocoons. The screaming of the lambs is the memory from her childhood that haunts her the most, besides the death of her father. The screaming of the lambs is what made her run away from her home with her aunt and uncle. She could do nothing to save them, but made a valiant effort to save just one. Even though she tried her hardest, she couldn’t do it. The lamb ended up being slaughtered. This symbolizes her trying to save the Senators daughter. She put her heart and sole into this case so that she wouldn’t live her nightmare all over again. The second symbol of the movie is the moth cocoon. No moth like it lived in the country. They had to be imported as eggs and raised to adulthood. This is the key to the killing of Buffalo Bill. If she never saw the moth fly near her when she was at his house, she would have left and the girl would have died.
Buffalo Bill would have still been on the loose, and with no Hannibal to help Clarisse, he would have been unstoppable. Technology didn’t really play a big part in this film because there weren’t really many special effects. During the movie I noticed a lot of point of view shots. When the Senators daughter was in the hole in the floor, it showed a shot of Buffalo Bill looking down on her, then it showed a shot from the bottom looking up at Buffalo Bill. Twice during the movie the use of night vision was used. Once when Buffalo Bill was looking at the Senators daughter, and once when he was looking at Clarisse when he turned off all the lights in the room. Both of these times were point of view shots. A lot of blood and gore took place throughout the movie. Technology helped it look more real. It looked life like when they were examining the first girl murdered. She was laying on the table, and part of her back was skinned. It also looked life like when they were taking Hannibal to the hospital after he skinned the guard’s face. The use of lighting was very apparent in the movie. Most of the movie was very dark giving it a scary feeling. Sometimes it would show a shot of Hannibal’s face and it would be light and everything around him would be black.
The Essay on William Buffalo Bill Cody
Buffalo Bill was one of the most interesting figures of the old west, and the best known spokesman of the new west. Buffalo Bill was born in 1846 and his real name was William Frederick Cody. Cody was many things. He was a trapper, bull whacker, Colorado 'Fifty-Niner'; , Pony Express rider, Civil War soldier, wagon master, stagecoach driver, and even a manager of a hotel. He changed his name to ...
There was a lot of low key lighting to give off a lot of shadows. There was a couple of songs throughout the movie that had some meaning. The Senators daughter, before she was kidnaped, was singing American Girl. This showed that she was of some importance, being the daughter of a Senator of the United States. Every time it went down to Buffalo Bill’s cellar, it played a specific song. Every time it was played it gave off the feeling that he changed a lot. He would act calm, but sometimes he would show the masculine side of himself and start to yell. The other song was a calm song that was playing in Hannibal’s new cell. It gave off a feeling of calmness. It must have been the calm before the storm because right after the song, he killed the two guards. From what I see the music in this movie was of great importance. I have never seen this film before I received this assignment. I thought it would be a good time to see it. I like detective movies, and movies that have some gore in them. This movie reminds me of Seven. They are both based on the crazy, gory, twisted side of movies.
I liked this movie very much, it was all I expected. I thought that Hannibal was the main cause for all the concern before I saw it. Now that I have seen it, I think that it worked out better that Hannibal wasn’t the main criminal. He is evil, but he is also kind of a hero, it is very mind bending. I thought that watching the movie once wasn’t enough, so I watched it a second time and understood it better. I rate this movie up there with Scarface. I didn’t have many dislikes about the movie except that I wanted to see what was going to happen to Hannibal. Nevertheless, I think it was better off ending that way because it gave me the sense that he wasn’t going to come back for Clarisse. He said it himself, “The world is much more interesting with you in it. Bye Clarisse.”
