Starting from birth an individual will go through various phases of development that will continues throughout his or her lifespan. The first step of development starts during infancy in which the development cycle will continue through his or her childhood, adolescence, adulthood along into his or her elderly stage of life. Within this assignment, the similarities and differences in adolescent development will be discussed on both genders. The stage of adolescent is when a human reaches the age of 12 to 19 years of age. Both genders will go through different stages of life that will stay with each gender throughout his or her lifespan. Is the experience of being an adolescent the same for males and females? Boys and girls adolescent develops and grows at different rates from each other. Each gender is unique such as different personalities as well as life experience. An adolescent maybe influenced by many of various factors such as physical development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development. Each gender will go through all four stages of development in his or her own way. When a girl goes through the age of eight to eleven, they tend to be androgynous.
A girl in this age group will view themselves as strong and confident as well as not afraid to express her feelings on what she think about particular issues. If you study it from a cross-cultural perspective, it will show a wide variety of different youth that that happens all over the world. Being bicultural does not change how he or her feel about the type of learning that he or she was raise in before they was relocate to a different environment (Montgomery, 2013).

Both genders go through many different factors in life such as physical development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development. Until he or she enter into adulthood, he or she could be exposed to many different cultures throughout the world. Adolescence within society goes through a significant change within the teenage life. Both genders will change mentally and physically he, or she will develop his or her personality, as well as learn whom he or she is as an individual. It can be hard for both genders to know what he or she needs to do to have a healthy adulthood. For each gender to understand this change, it is up to adults within society to help them understand that changes that are taking place with each of them is a part of growing up into adulthood.
