In the movie, “A Man For All Seasons’, it was showing how the King of England wanted to have some type of treaty signed to allow him to marry once again. A person by the name of Sir Thomas More was a person of power and had some type of authority in the church. The king was asking for this treaty to be signed because of the position he was in. He had already married, but all of the boys that his wife had produced had all died, so he had not produced a male heir. The king was a friend of Sir Thomas, but Sir Thomas knew better than to sign the treaty in his favor, even though everybody else had been “forced’ to sign it. He wouldn’t sign it even after being charged with treason, put in jail, and taken away from his family, he never wanted to give into what they wanted him to.
After having a trial being accused of high treason, he was found guilty by a jury. His punishment, getting his head c hoped off. After all of this, years later, the witness that had commited perjury which was the key to Sir Thomas’ death, was also found guilty of perjury and put to death. A few things that might show that I really saw the movie are these few small details: The silver cup (chalice) which was given to the man which wanted to serve Sir Thomas, but didn’t want to be a teacher. How he later became the bishop or something of Whales. How Sir Thomas’ daughter throughout the movie was wanting to get married to a eager man that Sir Thomas, to me really didn’t care for.

Lastly, is how the executioner asked Sir Thomas for forgiveness before he chopped his head off, and Sir Thomas said, “You are only doing your duty, do it and don’t feel bad because you are sending me to heaven.’.
