SMART goal setting Process
Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is important for overall health and can help you prevent and control many diseases and conditions. That is why I am using the SMART goal setting process to lose tem pounds by the end of the year. I picked this specific fitness goal because I think it is crucial to feel good about yourself and keep a healthy weight. This goal is not going to be achieved on its own; it’s going to have some obstacles in the way. I am going to have to push myself every day in P.E as well as work out at home. By using the SMART goal setting process I am setting a realistic goal for myself to achieve so that I am healthy and can feel good about myself.
My specific goal is to lose ten pounds by the end of the semester. By doing this I can be happy with my weight and fit into a size three. This goal will be measured by weighing myself every day in the morning before I go to school. I will know my goal is accomplished when I step on the scale and see the number 110. Losing ten pounds will be very challenging but it will still be attainable. It will be challenging because I’m not used to working out on a daily basis and it will take time to make it a daily routine. In order to achieve my goal I need to participate in P.E and so some sort of activity daily. My goal is realistic and I am more than committed to my goal. I want to reach this goal because I want a perfect swimsuit body for California this summer. My goal is relevant to my life purpose because if I get in the habit to work out every day at a young age, I can continue when I am an adult. Achieving this goal will help me lead the life that I want to have because I won’t have to be self-conscious about my weight and I will be happy.

Usually, when people set fitness goals they end up stopping because they don’t have enough time or they quit because they get lazy. I, on the other hand will have plenty of time to finish and exceed my goal. Is my goal trackable? Yes, I can keep a track of my weight every week and if it’s not where I want it to be I can work harder the next week. My goal will hopefully be reached by the last week of school. I can’t wait for my goal to be accomplished, I will finally be happy, confident, and at last in shape.
