East Africa civilizations had already had interactions with other civilizations in which the Arab influence with East Africa was just as durable there as it was within West Africa. Chaka (1786-1828) was the leader of the Zulu nation which had diversity over a large part of South Africa which constituted change within the society, which was the same for other societies by Ashanti hegemony which was implemented within close societies and civilizations that were impacted due to change of culture and imperialism that was a restructure of the conformity with the societies impacted for the New World (Sayre, 2010).
There is a difference between the process of modernization and change within the 21st century from agrarian to an industrial technological people; whereas Westernization is synonymous to modernization when it comes to the effects that it had on West Africa (science. jrank. org).
The Westernization within Africa implied the European Colonial structure and the Atlantic Slave Trade which basically forced this culture into the New World by the 18th century which shows the Western culture assimilation by Africa, the process later cultivated the diaspora Africans were introduced to Westernization through Education and Christian Evangelization (Garret, 1998).
Africans were thought of as savages who had no religion; whereas Europeans believed that the African beliefs were worthless, godless, and dark and deadly where their cultures needed to be stripped away through trade intervention (Garret, 1998).

There were new laws and legal systems put into place that were indigenous that questioned inheritance and property but with the progression of the Western and European cultures came a system of capitalism which had a major impact on Africa (Gakwandi, 1977).
Africa was just a ground for raw materials for industrial production for the Westerners, which would change the economy for Africa with the implementation of taxes and cash that made Africans have a labor wage that caused problems because of migrant work that came from mining within South Africa.
Western civilization within Africa caused a significant impact within social economic and cultures which has been categorized as a colonial assault and stagnation when it comes to the cultural traditions within the civilizations of Africa due to the domination of European and Western cultures and civilizations that took over the heritage of Africans (Asante, 2007).
The original African cultures were completely dominated with the Western culture and Africans were totally Westernized which is considered to be the forefront of cultures within all civilizations; whereas the African culture is considered archaic and primitive where the Africans no longer fought for their culture or power for their society; whereas their social identity and heritage has been lost within a whole region and has acquired the cultural and social hierarchies of the Westerners (Sayre, 2009).
