Spontaneous Housing in the Third World Countries The end of the twentieth century has been marked by many substantial events for the global economy, social life, and progressive development. The collapse of the two polar systems of global influence (the socialistic block of the Soviet Union, and North Atlantic Alliance of the United States of America and Western Europe) uncovered many problems that were not given properly attention during the confrontation of the Cold War. It has suddenly appeared that one third of the global population lives in great poverty, which is constantly growing. In addition, the breakdown of the Soviet Union introduced several millions of people to this third world type of living. The expansion of the democratic type of administration cannot associate and cooperate with this worldwide situation. Besides the constantly growing population of the world requires appropriate housing conditions for at least basic living and working of these people.
That is why one of primary goals of todays world leaders is to provide all of the people with homes or some temporary places of residence. With all f the plitical and ecnmic strife in the wrld tday, there is a huge ppulatin f peple wh are just tired f being n the rck bttm f the ecnmic ladder, and are desperate fr a better life in decent cnditins. However these people sometimes cannot afford even food, not talking about the separate housing for their families. The absence of the homes for these people poses a great threat to the overall health and social stability of the country. Homeless people are often very disappointed with their lives and in their acting are guided by the idea that they have nothing to lose. The unsanitary environment provokes the spread of numerous diseases. At this point it very important for the government to intervene and find the solution to the housing problems.

One of the proposed ways of solving housing troubles is to provide the people with temporary houses. The spontaneous houses are usually government donated, quite inexpensive and quick to build. The temprary reusable shelters can be purchased frm different cmpanies, which specialize in sites-and-services programs, in advance by frward-thinking natin fathers, and quickly deplyed t meet grwing demand fr husing. This practice is widely used by the developed countries in the cases of catastrophes. Built around steel framing rather than wood, the walls of each temporary unit are created by combining concrete and wood chips into a special composite material proven resistant to fire, termites, rodents, freeze, and thaw. A typical sheet of this shelter siding is thick enough to stop a bullet, no small consideration in a global refugee environment. The benefits of this are quite evident.
At a very little cost the homeless family can get its own house with rather good conditions. Besides the family will feel the care of the government and stay mentally more calm and peaceful. However, in addition to all the benefits of the temporary housing, there are many limitations (most of which are mainly ethical) that must be considered when we think of spontaneous housing as of the solution of global problem. One of the main limitations is that once the family is given a home, it will be very hard for this family when this home is taken away (even though there was an agreement between the family and administration).
At the same time growing number of this type of residences causes new low class ghettos to appear on the cities maps. The expanding spontaneous districts can pose a threat to the future development of the local infrastructure. In case if some particular area finds an investor for its development the authorities must find the ways to clear the territory, which would be occupied by temporary houses with many people living in them.
The Essay on One Big Happy Family House Home
The story that I chose to write about was 'One Big Happy Family,' ; by Anndee Hochman. The story is about a young woman whose family life seemed to be the American dream, for those of us looking in from the outside. Her family owned a house in the city like most of us and a house on the beach. The house on the beach was unique with its architecture anomalies, which made the house more a mix and ...
Plus we must always understand that once some family gets free housing, it might consider it unreasonable to strive for the further prosperity of this family. At the same time many new families, which are still homeless, will request the houses for themselves. Though the spontaneous and temporary houses can provide for quick and inexpensive solution of the housing problems, there are several serious limitations to this approach. The authorities interested in the approach should consider all of the alternatives and variants, and only then make final decision on whether to implement the site-and-service program or not..
