“A person may make mistakes, but it isn’t a failure until he or she blames someone else. We must believe in ourselves, and somewhere along the road of life we must meet someone who sees greatness in us, expects it from us, and lets us know it. It is the golden key to success.” -Anonymous- I truly believe in success and the goals and dreams that bring us to become successful people. We have had many successful people so far in this generation and the pasts that have molded us into the people that we have become and are to become. I am going to list some of these people and the mistakes and faults that they have encountered before they became the people they are. Einstein was four years old before he could speak.
Isaac Newton did poorly in grade school and was considered unpromising. A newspaper editor fired Walt Disney because he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” When Thomas Edison was a youngster, his teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything. He was counseled to go into a field where he might succeed by the virtue of his personality. Winston Churchill failed the 5 th grade and had to repeat it because he did not complete the tests that were required for promotion.
Babe Ruth struck out 1300 times which was a major league record. Michael Jordan was cut from his High School basketball team. F. W. Woolworth god a job in a dry good store when he was 21, but his employed wouldn’t let him wait on customers because he didn’t have enough sense to close a sale. Beethoven’s music teacher once said of him, “As a composer he is hopeless.” In conclusion I would like to say that one of my favorite quotes is “Pain is weakness leaving the body.” This ties in because when we make mistakes it causes pain but leaves us stronger and brings us into the people we are.
The Essay on Best Mistake
“God writes straight with crooked lines,” as a Portuguese proverb goes (cited in Lukacs NP). This means that the craziest events in life make a lot of sense in the long haul and yes, in hindsight (Lukacs NP). My best friend Mike just flew in from Canada. It has been years since we last saw each other. We had half of our lives worth of catching up to do. Mike and I hanged out that evening, over a ...
I hope that this generation and the next will all become successful.
