1.1 Explain the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training:
My role as a teacher will be to plan and deliver learning that will not only inspire and motivate the learners but it will also develop the knowledge, vocational skills, study skills and life skills the learners will need to help them succeed. I understand that during the learning process it will be important to engage all learners as much as possible, without making any of them feel intimidated, with an inclusive approach I will be empowering the learners to meet the demands of accreditation.
The learning journey undertaken by each learner is different as everyone has different learning needs, speeds and styles that can be influenced by personality types, this means it is vital to plan differentiated learning outcomes to meet the needs of higher level learners, ensuring they are not held back, this has to be done while making sure slower learners are not left behind. Differentiated learning is crucial in order to ensure ‘all’ learners successfully complete learning outcomes and reach their full potential. To achieve this I will continually assess progress, gain and give feedback and provide extra support where necessary.
In order to facilitate learning. I will maintain a professional relationship with all learners at all times, value them as individuals and support there learning needs. (Gravells, 2008) I will provide a safe and supportive environment within the classroom; for example, I will reduce the barriers to participation and learning by setting up and discussing with learners the ground rules, health and safety requirements, housekeeping needs and make use of ice breakers to promote inclusion. (Booth and Ainscow, 2002)

It is also important for me as a teacher to promote positive life skills to the learners. The importance of time management not only for managing work load but also stressing the impact lateness has on the individual and the group. The issue of classroom control is something that needs to be considered. I will need to be punctual and consistent with learners so that everyone understands the boundaries. I aim to keep learners motivated by being aware of their attention span, giving praise and encouragement, asking open questions and varying my teaching approaches.
My role will involve unnoticeable tasks such as maintaining learners records, filing and photocopying. Some information and records will be confidential and therefore will need to be kept securely.
It will be my responsibility as a teacher to deliver teaching that is suitable for all learners, be professional, supportive and fair to all learners. To create an environment where all learners can reach their full potential.
