A similarity that we share would definitely be that we are each use our critical thinking skills, we each want to be here and that shows by us returning to college after being out for so long. I believe all of being in the military will help us with diversity as it showed in our scores on the discovery wheel. Most of us scored about in the upper 20’s or low 30’s in each category.
I think all of our time management skills will be put to the test since we all live busy lives. We all seemed to score about the same on the time management part. Again I think because of our military background we all will be able to adapt and overcome any issues that will present itself to us as individuals or as a group. 2. What are the advantages of having diversity on a team? What challenges might the team face because of diversity? Having a diverse team will be beneficial to the team because we all have a different approach to learning and handling task.
From all of us having different cultural backgrounds and experiences will help each one of us contribute different ideas and solutions to deal with the challenges to come before us. A Another benefit to having a diverse team will give us the advantage of being allowed to assess and determine which team member will be best suited to be assigned a certain task. The results I received from the career interest profiler was pretty far off I thought. By completing the competencies test I know where my strengths and weaknesses are, which made me aware of the areas I need to work. My results show that I am good with dealing with pressure and I am pretty even on the rest of my strengths. 5. With all of us being prior military we all have had to deal with different conflict resolutions. With a few of us being parents we understand the virtue of patients, but most of all we all have to determination and will to be here and overall this will help us pull on our team strengths to resolve conflicts. In conclusion, I think if we all give diversity a chance we can use it to our advantage. By all of us communicating openly and respecting each other’s opinions we will prevail even during our times of disagreements.
