Different people have different opinions on whether technology is a blessing or a curse. As I see it, in the modern history of human civilization, technology has played an indispensable role and it has always been the first driving force of the prosperity of life and society, so I tend to support the idea that technology is mainly a blessing to us.
Firstly, technology has made our lives much easier, a lot more convenient and fascinating than ever before. For instance, with the help of it, most of us no longer need to worry about food, instead we are provided with various types of food that not only satisfy our tastes but also are nutritious. Household appliances, computers, modern transportation and telecommunication have revolutionized our lives in different aspects. What’s more, technology enables us to choose before different alternatives such as diverse ways of recreation and education.
Apart from the contributions technology has made to our society, it is also crucial to our economy. As technology develops, it creates opportunities, generates a great fortune and a large number of vacancies. What’s more amazing, it fulfils people’s dreams of becoming rich overnight. On the other hand, it leads to an ever-increasing level of productivity which gives rise to the ever-large quantities of goods and services that can expand consumption and boost the economy.
Taking these factors into consideration, the benefits that technology has brought to us would no doubt outweigh the problems it has brought about, so I hold the firm opinion that technology is mainly a blessing for us human beings.
