While facing the severe realities of teen pregnancy is not pleasant, it must be assumed as any other pregnancy. Do you agree? Teen pregnancy, seen as getting pregnant before 18, is one of the most difficult experiences a young person might ever face when it interrupts school or other future plans. Many people think it is irrational and those pregnancies must be interrupted. It is my opinion that teen pregnancy, although no ideal, does have to be assumed and respected as any other pregnancy. First of all, once a girl is pregnant, there is no choice, she has to assume her new role and look for ways to continue with this process. Besides, teen mothers are perfectly able to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. With the proper nutrition and support some potential problems will not appear. Above all, pregnancy, no matter the age, is the state of carrying a growing life in the uterus. It is proved that from the beginning there is a being inside a pregnant woman: “As legal and medical definition holds that pregnancy begins when the zygote implants in the uterine wall.” (Dr. Smith, 2002).
Many people believe that teen pregnancy must be ignored and denied. Firstly, they say, a teen girl has no enough ripeness and responsibility to take care of her body during the gestation and of the baby at birth and for the rest of their lives. Secondly, they argue, teen girls’ bodies are not completely ready to face a pregnancy, “because the body of a teen is still growing she will need more nutritional support to meet both her needs and that of her baby” (Dr. Weiss, 2008).

Nevertheless, in my opinion, there must be a cultural awareness that if a girl could get so easily pregnant, she must have the enough liability to accept it and to know that from now on, she is not one but two people, since her baby will be totally dependent on her for long time.
In conclusion, although teen pregnancy is not as normal and acceptable as adult women pregnancies, and it obviously has a lot of disadvantages, I unquestionably believe that if a teenager is pregnant, no doubt, she and her partner must assume this fact with all the maturity by thinking it as a common pregnancy. In an ideal world, teen pregnancy will not be more present in our societies. But as long as teen people have not the enough consciousness about its implications, teens’ responsibility and society support are necessary to think over it as any pregnancy, which also deserves respect and love.
