He almost achieves this dream when Candy is willing to donate three hundred dollars for the land.
Later, Lennie gets in trouble and gets shot. This completely shatters George s dream. George s life was miserable, dreaming about his wonderful land helped him escape his pathetic life. He would dream about, Well, it s ten acres said George. got a little win mill. Got a little shack on it, an a chicken run.

Once again, this shows George s detailed description of his dream. He even talks about catching salmon, and then eating them for breakfast. Thinking about this dream keeps him working hard and saving his money to acquire his goal. Lennie s dream is mostly the same as George, but the main part Lennie focuses on is the rabbits and the fact that he gets to tend them. All Lennie ever can think about is that he gets to tend the rabbits, and if he isn t bad, he doesn t get to tend the rabbits any more. Here, Lennie proves that all he really thinks about and cares about is tending the rabbits. All the other things said just go right over his head. Lennie is bleeding, he just crushed a man s arm and yet, all he cares about is tending the rabbits.
This shows Lennie s personality, he only cares about what is important to him, he just lets the world do what its going to do and he shuts it out. All Lennie ever wants to do is tend the rabbits, this dream of his shapes his life because if he does anything bad George won t let him tend the rabbits. Curly s wife had a dream to become a movie star but it hasn t worked out and that is how she ended up marring Curly. Curly s wife had huge aspirations of becoming a star, but she couldn t where she lived because she thought her mother was taking her mail.
