Early feminism; the Feminist Movement is also referred to as the Women’s Rights Movement, Women’s Liberation, the Suffrage Movement, and the Women’s Movement. No matter which one a person refers to it as, all of the names focus on the equality of one gender. In many places, certain roles were determined by maternity; that including having children and being responsible for them, and performing domestic chores. There was much progress made by the Feminist Movement.
The feminist Movement changed many traditional concepts. Many accomplishments and progress of this movement includes, the right to vote, gender equality/equal employment opportunity, higher education, passing sexual harassment laws,. Women are able to do many of the same jobs as men can do today. Women are able to vote and even run for political offices. The Feminist Movement has extended beyond the United States and Europe. There is a movement that is equivalent to the Feminist Movement.
It’s called CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women).
It’s the treaty rights for women. CEDAW strengthens the United States as a global leader in standing up for women and girls. CEDAW is helping make a difference for women and girls by trying to reduce sex trafficking, domestic violence ensure the right to vote, child marriage, etc. 3 The early ideas of the Feminist Movement are still relevant today.

Equal rights for women and sexual harassment and abuse are still relevant as well. Even though many of the ideas are still relevant and there has been much progress made, there is still quite a ways to go. There are still women in other countries who are trying to get the rights that we have here in the United States. Women should never forget the many sacrifices and battles that were fought and won, that made us get to this point now. Many founders aren’t even able to see the progress that has been made.
