To be able to compete with their number one competitor, Boeing, Airbus’ mission is to create the best and safest aircraft. Throughout the years, Airbus has followed their vision by manufacturing state of the art modern jetliners that use the company’s groundbreaking innovation of digital fly-by-wire technology. With the application of this technology to modern aircrafts, Airbus can enhance safety, performance, and the comfort of its passengers (Airbus).
Airbus represents a prospector, which focuses on developing new products or services and seeks out new markets rather than waiting for things to happen/come to them. In 2007, Airbus introduced the world largest wide-body jetliner- the Airbus A380. The A380 can fly longer ranges, carries more than 500 passengers, uses less fuel, reduces operational costs across the board, delivers cabin comfort, and uses state of the art technology to deliver the highest standard of quality and safety.
As of today, there are more than 250 orders of the A380 from customers worldwide. Therefore, by designing and developing a new class of jumbo airliner, Airbus has created a new need for superjumbo and set new high standards of what future airliners should be like.
