Are illegal immigrants or undocumented immigrants beneficial to America’s economy? Most illegal immigrants have a positive impact on the United States (U.S.) economy. Illegal immigrants have a positive impact on the United States economy because they increase our tax revenue, they add to our social security, and they also increase our employment rates.” In 2000, statistics revealed 8.7 illegal immigration United States">million illegal immigrants resided in the United States” (Knickerbocker pgs.11-12).
“A study of illegal immigrants living in Texas showed a 420 million dollar increase in the states economy” (Strayhorn).
Companies risk hiring illegal immigrants because they are more than willing to work when companies need them (Chaddock 24-25).
This should not be the case in our society because the United States should is a giving nation and we should provide available jobs for all that want to better themselves.
Although it is illegal for illegal immigrants to work in America, they are very popular to business owners. For example, many undocumented immigrants pay sales and property taxes. Because of their employment, our economy increases by 5 percent each month ( Knickerbocker).

In addition, illegal immigrants contributed 1.7 million dollars of interest to America’s economy (Scherer pg. 6-7).
As a result, businesses created new jobs because of the money billions of undocumented immigrants spent. In Texas, 1.4 million immigrants added 18 billion dollars to the economic output of the state. So, why does the government not support illegal immigrants? Their supporters believe lawmakers should create a system that works with our economy instead of against it (Ewing).
Others believe if the economy keeps our wages low then illegal immigrants take away labor savings which prevent American workers from being lazy and unproductive ( The Economist).
Another reason illegal immigrants are beneficial to our economy is because they increase our social security rate. Social security is very important to the United States of America. Almost 140,000 employers received letters from the Social Security Administration stating that they had problems matching their tax deposits with valid social security numbers. Nevertheless, few businesses are scared of hiring illegal immigrants during labor crisis (Novack).
For example, businesses all across America are trying to create separate companies to hire illegal immigrants to save the economies social security (Norton).
This should not be the case. Illegal immigrants are suppose to work together with our citizens of America. Homeland Security predicts from January 2000 to January 2006, thirty-seven percent of the illegal population will rise to approximately 11.6 million. In order to control this population, “Colorado requires government contractors to run new hires through a special immigration identification procedure” (Novack pg. 21-22).
In addition, the government controls the number of illegal immigrant workers by keeping their social security taxes, which causes illegal immigrants to hold fewer jobs (Novack).
Fewer jobs available to illegal immigrants means that no income coming home for one immigrant. No support in the household for another one. However, researchers have found that 70 percent of illegal immigrants contribute to the U.S. income and social security taxes.
Illegal Immigrants – Essay 2
Illegal Immigrants Immigrants are people who come from different parts of the world due to war and poverty in their country. A big number of immigrants cross the border to America, the land of opportunity, illegally to get better lives. The statue of the illegal immigrants is one of the current agenda in United State Senate which is still unsolved. As George W. Bush argues a new temporary worker ...
The final reason illegal immigrants are good for our economy is because they help increase our employment rates. This is very important to us due to the fact that experts also say they create new job opportunities. There are two reasons why employers choose illegal immigrants over American workers. First, employers like immigrant’s attitudes (Koob).
Second, employers believe immigrants work harder than American workers (Koob).
Although it is true, undocumented workers take jobs away from Americans. Employers face problems when Americans refuse to work for low wages (Scherer).
Since 1986, it has been illegal to hire illegal immigrants due to the matter of trespassing territory. However, they have provided 33 percent of services to construction companies, 17 percent to industries, 16 percent to repair and installation, 13 percent to administrative support and sales, 10 percent to professional and management businesses, 8 percent to material moving and transportation, and 3 percent to agriculture (Pew Hispanic Center).
If illegal immigrants were able to earn a legal status their giving would be even greater (Ewing) and they could help better their families. Releasing illegal immigrants is very important to America’s economic wealth in the future (Ewing).
Many United States citizens say that illegal immigration is a crime. According to (Border Control) an entry into the United States illegally should be a misdemeanor and is like sneaking into the country as a violation. Many things about illegal immigration laws is that why is it illegal to come to a better country to try to better their lives as people. It is understandable that the country that they were born in has a low-income environment and it is not their fault if they are willing to do anything necessary to make it in this world. Every human being living should have access to the American dream. It should matter if you are from Mexico, China, or Japan we are all created equal and I strongly do not agree with the illegal immigration rules why stop a person trying to travel across the world trying to better their lives. Why are we here if they make laws such as this?
Laws such as this destroy the hopes and dreams of people from different regions of the world that want to come live in the United States to come work illegally. Just because you were not born here should not be called illegal immigrants because they are not hurting us in no kind of way. All the immigrants want to do is to work in the United States to get better jobs for better pay. So why is the United States always trying to purge non-Americans out the way. It should not be fair that all immigrants have to go for the first available job that the government tries to give them. People are people no matter where you come from or how you were raised every human deserves to be apart of the great land of the United States of America to live the life that was given by our great founders. Now that we have seen how illegal immigrants or undocumented workers contribute to the United States economy, lawmakers should think twice about passing laws, which force them to leave America. After all, illegal immigrants have a positive impact on the United States economy because they elevate our tax revenue, they add to our social security, and they also increase our employment rates.
