9/11 was one of the worst things to ever happen in American history. It has changed America economically, socially, politically, and militarily. Innocent people lost their lives or they lost their loved ones. They will never forget September 11, 2001. People already know who designed the attacks. The terrorist group that attacked was none other than, Al Qaeda and their leader Osama Bin Laden. But, now they just ask one question. Why? Their first target was the World Trade Center, which could be described as the financial capital of the multinational businesses of the United States. The twin towers weren’t only functional centers of finance, but they were also iconic symbols of America’s enormous economic impact throughout the world. Their second target, the Pentagon, is another icon as well as the purposeful center of the massive military strength of the United States. The attacks were caused by same cause that starts every war that has ever taken place.
It’s about wealth and money. How did 9/11 change the world economically? After 9/11 the economy definitely dropped. Money spent on manufacturing goods and services now have to be spent to make the distribution stations protected from terrorism. Because the United States is such a large trading partner in the world, all economies will tolerate the cost of refining security. This makes transportation of people, products and services more expensive to produce. The attacks on 9/11 threatened the core of the US financial system situated in the area of the attacks and caused the closing of the New York Stock Exchange. Also, 9/11 definitely changed America socially. Before, people didn’t fear boarding their flight. Now, that’s what most people fear. Also, if they do board, they are terrified if they see someone who looks like a terrorist in fear that something like 9/11 will occur again.

Ever since 9/11, there is more discrimination against Muslims and people from the Middle East. People automatically associate the Middle East to terrorism. Also, it has changed many American’s view on religion. They fear people from the Muslim religion, even if they aren’t, if they look like they came from the Middle East or any place related to terrorism and the Al Qaeda, they are terrified and just walk away quickly. Another way 9/11 changed America, was politically. The United States went to war after 9/11 and it never stopped. And now, it appears that it never will. Bush and his administration made sure of that with a thoughtless hurry not just to war, but to a lasting wartime attitude.
On November 21, Bush told Fort Campbell troops that Afghanistan is “just the beginning … across the world and across the years, we will fight these evil ones, and we will win”. Quickly after 9/11 happened, Republicans and Democrats came together and worked together, mainly because the US feared that they were under attack more than anything else. Of course, some of the things the US did didn’t make the country stronger. Militarily, 9/11 also changed the US. Now, there is way more security at airports.
It is higher and more advanced. If you even just look like a terrorist they will pull you out of the line, pat you down, fingerprint you, etc. No one is innocent anymore. Also, ever since one of the planes was aimed towards the White House, security has gone up. There is especially higher security anywhere around the government. The President is especially protected along with the White House. The military has changed itself also; it has changed their policies, the way they fight, the way they do their organizations, to the way they train their soldiers, to material solutions. Also, the vehicles they drive, the weapons they use, and the personal protection they wear are way better since the terrorist attacks. Basically, 9/11 has definitely changed America in many ways. It has shaped us to where we are now.

Whether that is a good position or bad position depends on the citizens. No one will ever forget that day. The day the planes hit the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and almost hit the White House. The burning bodies falling out of the building. People committing suicide knowing that they were going to die anyways. Couples jumping out of the building holding hands, saying their goodbyes. People crashing down along with the towers. People will never forget hearing about the crash, especially if they had a loved one working in the building on that day. No one will forget the people who were lost on that day. They will always be honored and never forgotten. Never forget, September 11, 2001.
