A paraphrase of The death penalty is a Step Back In Indiana, during 1981, when Steven Judy was put to death, the U.S.A. made another severe mistake by making capital punishment okay to do to our criminals. The fact that he committed four treacherous murders is irrelevant, because America cannot possibly have a substantial society in which the government is justified in killing its citizens. A lot of feedback has come from the death penalty due to the recent rise in the crime rate, but capital punishment is extremely immoral, and goes against our national constitution. King even stands strongly against the death penalty after two of her family members were assassinated. Therefore, killing someone is not justified by any crime. Capital punishment is also impractical, first off, because it is impossible to bring someone back to life if there was a mistake made in the system.
Due to the death penalty, there have been numerous people wrongly convicted, and once is too many. It also assumes that the supposed criminal is beyond rehabilitation. No one can judge that the criminal cannot be helped, even if he/she were beyond it. What could entitle anyone to judge so? The racial problem with the death penalty is also an issue. The number of black people recently on death row is about half, and from 1930 to 1968 was 53.5%. A majority of these people were not given a fully fair trial. Finally, it does not keep the person from doing it because most people do not really think before killing someone.

There is no proof or logic that justifies the killing of a murderer as an example to keep others from doing so. Most killings, according to research, happened as a result of someone acting out in a blind rage. It can only take the peacekeeping of law-abiding citizens to stop this evil track of fury.
