For many years Europe has been the cradle of many wars. People suffered from these terrible events they lost their families their homes during those years. The idea of a union was created after a very short time of these horrible years. The European Union was created to secure the area and it was a promise to European people that this union was going to bring peace to the area instead of war. The European Union was there to support the right of the member citizens. This is what we have learned about the European Union at first sight.
According to my idea European union was built or we can say created as a peace process in Europe to keep the peace around and keep the Europe and the citizens away from war. But by the time changed the world has changed too. European Union turned out to be a part of global competition.
As the world became smaller by globalization and almost became a global village the competition between the nations is growing too. Nations are coming together to built the strongest economy and the best living standards for their citizens. In a world like this it was very natural for the European Union to become a part of the global competition. Today the members of the European Union countries are becoming one against the other nations and unions. By this new shape Europe may be the strongest power all around the world. Also by this merger of the members the citizens will reach more higher living standards, stronger economy and more secure place to live.

Creating an area which can be stated as the area of freedom, security and justice is the European Union’s answer to the to the security risk that could be formed if there wont be any enough controls at internal frontiers, many tight controls, at the external borders. Freedom for people is to move around inside the European Union in conditions of security and justice. This means that there must be legal arrangements to provide effective protection for the security and rights of Union citizens moving around inside this area and for the rights of other countries citizens who are not members of the union and will be crossing the external borders of the union.
In conclusion, I believe European Union was created to secure the Europe, make it land of peace and freedom. And now its also becoming a part of a global competition.
