The Experimental Science In this report we will view the standard process of the experiment as it is used in the scientific labs. Through the simple process we will note and understand the basic experimental terms of control, experimental, and dependant variables. The experiment will allow us to see the approach taken by the scientists when performing their studies and research. For our experiment we need to take several things: a transparent glass, water from the same source (in our case it will be the kitchen faucet), black permanent marker with thin writing point, and aspirin based tablets (Alka-Seltzer).
The controls for the experiment are: the room of 80 degrees Fahrenheit average temperature, normal humidity, the table approximately of eight square feet, and the thermometer (showing the temperatures from 0 degrees to 100 degrees Celsius).
The variable of the experiment is the water of different temperature (hot water of approximately 70 Celsius heated by the microwave oven, medium temperature (room temperature) water of 27 degrees Celsius, and cold water of approximately 4 degrees (frozen in the refrigerator).
The dependant variables of the experiment are three tablets of Alka-Seltzer, each of the same shape, constitution, and color. The measurement device of the experiment is the digital stopwatch found in most of the mobile telephones. The stages of the experiment were as follows: Placing the smallest possible dot with the marker at the bottom of the glass (on the outside of it) Pour hot water into the glass, drop the tablet of Alka-Seltzer into it, and record the time it takes for the complete disappearance of the dot when looking through the water from the top of it (the time taken is 11 seconds0 Repeat the above step for both, the cold and normal temperature water (time taken is 35 and 21 seconds respectively) The Hypothesis of the Experiment: Performing the above steps we might assume that time taken for the disappearance of the dot from the bottom of the glass is directly related to the temperature of the water the tablet is placed into. Since the controls of the experiment and the dependant variables are constant, there is no other reasonable explanation for the change of the time it takes the black dot to completely disappear. The Conclusion: Having considered all of the data received from the experiment we may fairly state that these results fit the hypothesis of the experiment. We must note that the experiment dependent variables are strongly related to the experiment variables with the impact of the controls that can be absolutely neglected. A seen from the above the experimental variable is very much dependent on the temperature of the water in the glass.

From the experiment we have learned that the higher the temperature, the faster it takes Alka-Seltzer tablets to dissolve in the water and make the black dot invisible due to the fuzziness of the glass content. It happens due to the faster movement of the molecules in the water.
