Their only crime that they committed was that they were Jews and did not followed the same religion as Germans. Similarly in the book, ‘The Kite Runner’ Hazara Muslims were treated less. They worked as servants for the Pashtun Muslims. Aquote in the novel states, “Door to door we went, calling for the men and the boys. We’d shoot them right there in front of their families. Let them see. Let them remember who they were, where they belonged.
Sometimes, we broke into their doors and went inside their homes. And… I’d… I’d sweep the barrel of my machine gun around the room and fire and fire until the smoke blinded me. ” this quote shows how Hazara Muslims were treated at the time and especially after the Taliban’s took over. Although the killing in both cases happened differently, but still in both cases innocent people were either forced to work as servants or were killed brutally just because their belief is different from others.
People think that just because they have more money they are right and they have the right to make people suffer just the way they want them to. They think that they can rule the world and because somewhere they also know that what they are doing is wrong they try to justify their crimes by giving it the name of their religious duty. According to an article more than 20, 000 people are killed in the name of the religion, every year.
The Essay on General Muslim Religion
Islam is the world’s second great monotheistic religion (Armstrong, 2002). Islam, an Arabic word, comes from a root word meaning commitment or surrender: hence the foundation of Islam is submission to the will of the Only God, Allah. The word ‘Muslim’ also itself means ‘one who lives his life according to Allah’s will (Esposito, 2002). Allah also has laid down the five pillars of foundations of ...
We all know that no religion allows or teaches killing or any other kind of violence unless in war and that even to protect your country. And war is also said to be the absolutely the last option. The holy book of many religions states that” It is better not to punish a criminal for his/her crimes rather than punishing an innocent for something he never did. ” and in the novel, the kite runner and during genocide millions of innocent people were killed because of their religion and their cast. This novel can also be related to racisms.
According to an article, “Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns. ” True to the statement, in the novel we see that in Afghanistan they do not like Hazara’s and killed them as according to them they were a threat to the country because there cast was different.
Through out the years we have seen racism but the biggest example is Africans and North Americans. Many years ago black people were treated less than the white people. They worked as slaves, they were not allowed to get an education, They were not allowed to rise up to the white people’s level. and all this was just because they have different skin colour. Relatedly in the novel, the racism is due to the cast. Hazara people were not allowed to study or to go to school.
They were supposed to work as servants. and no Hazara people were supposed to be better than any Sunni Muslims. Racism is a very big issue as even toady many people are raciest. Many countries and people don’t like others who is from different country, with different cast and especially thye have to be your standard (i. e. financial standard) just because they don’t have the same colour, cast or religion they are known to be more desperate.
