The clock in the old rusty 1962 station wagon was about to strip 12: 00 am fo what seemed like the millionth time on the Odule’s family vacation. The phrase “ARE WE THERE YET? !” has been the only noise that the family has heard for the last 300 miles. Young Billy was so excited to finally visit his dream, to visit the Ghost Town of Chief Long horse. The year before Billy had read a book about a Indian tribe that suddenly vanished into thin air when a chief left on a hunting trip and never returned.
Billy got so into the lost tribe that he did so much research that he felt he could save the souls of the lost Indians if he could go to the mountains of Northern Montana and Find the Chiefs favorite tree. Finally, what seemed like a hundred years, The Odule’s reached the barren town, their destination point. Upon Arriving the first thing that Billy said was, “Let go exploring.” It seemed as if he waited any longer to see the lush green mountains that engulfed Chief Long Horse’s desolate town, he would too vanish in to thin air. He wanted more then anything to find the tree with the hidden portal that would allow him to save the lost tribe. The family agreed with Billy and decided to go see if they could find a guide to show them around. When they found the information booth at the counter there was a tall Nevins, 2 Native American behind it.
When Billy saw him His eyes brightened up like a super nova and his mouth dropped to the floor faster then a bag of potatoes. When Billy’s parents saw him they shoved him back in fear that he was about to drop a racial comment. But Billy couldn’t wait any more he needed to talk to someone so he shoved as hard as he could back and pushed his parents to the ground and as fast as he could he pulled out his old beaten up copy of the “Legend of Chief Long Horse ” and asked the Indian If he knew any thing about the story. Out of anger Billy’s dad yelled time to go to the car but the man said “No, wait let me talk to the boy” the man the introduced himself as George and told Billy that he to has been trying for a couple of years trying to find the tree to save the Indian tribe. Billy’s parents were trying to get out of the situation and said that they were going to go look for a hotel but George said that all the hotels were closed and that the family could stay with him for the night until the morning.

But after he became chief the tribe’s medicine man sad that he would suffer for his sin’s when he dies. So what the new Chief did was find a spell that would freeze time for ever and make it so that he wouldn’t die. After hearing this Billy became so upset that he wanted to kill Chief Long Horse and set things right for the poor people of the tribe. When the two got out of Georges truck Billy was amazed at the beauty that stood before him.

The trees were so tall and so green and the smell of the fresh dew that lay all around him. He swore that this must be what heaven was like. Bt then George reminded him That they were there for a meaning. So Billy quickly told George that there was supposed to be a tree that was shaped like a lighting bolt six miles north of a creak with a make shift bridge.

They then suddenly ran to the tree and rubbed, it picked, at it even, climb to the highest the could in hope that they could trigger some kind motion that would open the portal. They couldn’t find it and were getting so pissed that Billy kicked the tree and yelled. Then suddenly the tree opened up right down the middle like a taco and began to glow a purple glow.
Wasting no time the two men quickly entered. As sone as they entered the tree a great blinding white flash blinded the two of them and they began to scream then suddenly they fell from the sky and saw the were standing in the same place as they were before they entered the tree but there was one difference… the smell of a rotting body filled the air. When they turned around they saw the carcases of a million dead animals blanketing the floor like a cold child in bed.
George looked at Billy who looked scared and was shacking continuously and said ” This can mean only one thing… we are in the time of Chief Long horse.” As soon as he said this a crowd of Indians who looked at the two of them and then surrounded them said come with us. Billy was so scared he began to utter cry and George urged Billy to calm down and said remember what we are here for, he then handed Billy and handgun. Billy suddenly toughened up and asked George “when.” George replied “NOW!” Nevins, 5 He too puled out a hand gun and began to fire his weapon left and right carelessly. After seeing George’s acts Billy began to fire his weapon. The first time he shot it he Hit the Indian that was holding his neck.

When they arrived at the outside of town they sat an waited till the saw Chief Long Horse but then they realized they had no idea what the Chief looked liked so they need to find a way to get the chief to come to them. Billy insisted that they start killing everyone they saw and they would be bound to kill the chief. At that point George was worried about Billy so he made him stay in one spot and not move till he came back. Billy watched what George was doing. George ran up to a Indian and dragged him back to there hiding spot. He explained to the Indian that they were there to get rid of the Chief and help save them.
The Indian was so happy that he explained were the Chief was. Not Nevins, 6 being able to hear what the Indian was saying due to the foreign language Billy was getting impatient and pushed the Indian over and told him to speak English or he would kill him. The Indian apologized and said the Chief was in the biggest building at the far east. George Thanked the Indian and then he and Billy ran as fast as they could to the biggest building and charged the doors down and demanded to speak with the Great Chief Long Horse. Billy shot a round into the ceiling and yelled “Now!” Then a tall dark man who looked extremely strong came forward and asked what the problem was George began to say that they were the future and had come to save the tribe from him. As George finished his sentence The Chief pulled out a blow gun and shot George till his weapon was empty.

When they got to the tree the portal was still open so they both entered it and when they got out the Chief said thanks to Billy then shot him with his blow gun and killed him and stole his guns. The chief then continued down the path with two guns and killed everyone he ever saw.
