The Life of Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler was born on the 20th day of April of the year 1889. He was born in the small town of Austria known as Braunau. It was right along the Inn River across from Germany. His father was Alois Hilter and right after his son s birth, he moved his family to Linz, Austria. Adolf started school there and at first was a good student but later in his studies he did poorly. This disappointed and angered Alois, his father, because his father s hopes were that Hitler one day study to become a government official like him.
Apart from his father s wish, Adolf s desire was to become an artist which abruptly came to an end after he failed the artist entrance exam twice in Vienna. His mother died during that period so Hitler remained in Vienna. During his time their, he learned to dislike non-German speaking people, eventhough he was not German himself. Hitler went to Munich, Germany in a year before World War I. He remained there and when war broke out in 1914, he volunteered for the German army. In that war Hitler was awarded twice for bravery and rose to the position of corporal. After the treaty of Versailles ended the war and left Germany in despair, Hitler remained there hospitalized.
The turn in Adolf s life occurred when in 1920, he joined the Nazi socialist party. The Nazis called for all Germans to unite in one group. Hitler became the leader of the party and organized an army known as the Storm Troopers, who protected the Nazi group. In an attempt to seize the Bavarian government, Hitler on November 9, 1923, led more than 2,000 troopers on a march and was arrested. He was sentenced for five years in prison, but ended up serving only 9 months. During this period he wrote the book Mein Kampf, German for my struggle. In this book, he stated the plans he had for Germany. By 1929, after Hitler had rebuilt the Nazi party, it had become an important minor party.

In 1930, a worldwide depression hit Germany, besides the debt of paying for the damage it had caused in World War I. Hitler protested against paying the debt and said that the Jews and Communists were the cause for Germany’s defeat in World War I. He promised to rid Germany of Jews and Communists and to reunite the German speaking part of Europe. On January 30, 1933, President Hindenburg appointed Hitler to chancellor of Germany, so after Hindenburg s death Hitler had full control of Germany. No freedom was allowed under the Third Reich, Hitler s government. Hitler would brainwash the other people, leading them to believe his idea of creating the perfect Aryan race. Under his Final Solution, he promised he would get rid of all Jews, negroes, and any other race non-white. Even getting rid of handicapped or mentally ill people.
In 1939, Hitler invaded Poland and WWII began. By this time extermination camps had been established. Hitler was responsible for the death of many innocent people during this time. Before Hitler was stopped in 1945 by the Allied countries, he had caused the extermination over 12 million people. Hitler committed suicide in his bunker on April 30,1945 and seven days later, Germany surrendered.
