The moment that I will never forget The scorching sun was beating against my olive, gold skin as a drop of sweat trickled down my face, slowly and gradually. The glorious scenery dazzled, the cool, summer breeze blew through my lush brown locks. Deep blue ocean tide’s lapped against my feet like a soft tender kiss and retreated slowly. The palm trees hypnotically shimmied from side to side in a swaying motion. As I walked across the beach, each step I took my foot sunk into the golden sand like a foot massage. Leaving a speck of sand that resembled gold dust shimmering in the sunlight. The serenity and tranquillity of the beach exploded my sense, from the sweet sound of birds singing to the tantalising aroma of nature surrounding me. I gazed into the distance and watched the waves crashing against one another, until an immense gust of wind pushed the final wave towards me. I was alarmed at the petrifying sight of water coming right at me. With nowhere to run I froze and glanced at the water one final time before it washed me into the ocean.
The water was vigorous, suddenly I felt helpless as it choked me. Gasping for every breath I could, I attempted to swim towards the shore. This was useless. I was floating further and further away from the shore, the water was flying up my nose and blocking my eyesight as I tried to scream for help but, all I heard was my echo. Darkness reigned upon me and the weather took a turn for the worst, rain and hailstone made it tougher for me to breathe. My arms felt fragile and before I knew it I couldn’t move them, frozen from the horrific conditions I was stranded in I tried to move my arm but felt nothing. Petrifyingly I screamed from the top of my lungs, all my energy went into getting help but I wasn’t shell-shocked when I got no reply. After all I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. I whine and wept at the thought of not seeing my parents and family again, all I had was blurred images in my head; my sister and her dark long hair, her hazel brown eyes and not to mention her red, rosy cheeks that lit up the room every time she smiled.

Flashbacks of my brother’s jokey antics came flooding back to me, the pranks he would pull just to see the look on my furious, startled face when I was caught off guard. I just lay there in the arctic temperatures of the water in the freezing night just thinking about my whole life. The night went on; I shivered and tried my absolute finest to keep myself vigilant and warm. I was astonished when I felt a tingling sensation going through my whole body starting from my fingers, I started to feel my arms again and gradually I regained feeling in my whole body. Relieved and hysterical I continued to yell and scream but yet again it was of no use.
I fell asleep, this time into what felt like a deep coma, I felt at peace and tranquillity with myself. Was it really my time to go? What felt like centuries went by and I stayed in this doze oblivious to everything around me. My eyes started to slowly open as I drowsily fluttered my eyelids in an attempt to open them, then I saw a light. Shining into my eye I gazed at it and looked up, there was a white ceiling. I began to panic, suddenly my heart was thumping faster and harder, my breathing was out of control. My only emotion was fear until I heard the most relieving words ever… “It’s okay, you are in hospital” I instantly let out a deep sigh and smirked a little until I comfortably fell asleep in safety.
