Christmas-
People celebrate Christmas Day in many ways. In the days or even weeks before Christmas Day, many people decorate their homes and gardens with lights, Christmas trees and much more. As for my family we like to celebrate Christmas early because on December 25 is the day where my family likes to head off to Fresno because we like to celebrate Christmas with my grandma and close relatives I think that Christmas is the best holiday and is my favorite for several reasons. I love the music and lights. I love being able to get together with friends and family and just appreciate each other. I think we should all celebrate everyday as though it is Christmas. I think Christmas is great and it makes me feel all fuzzy and warm on the inside. I wish we could do that every day.

Hmong New Year’s
The Hmong New Year (HNY) is a cultural celebration that occurs annually, in the months of November and December, in areas where large Hmong population exists. The purpose of this celebration is to welcome the New Year and rejoice the hard work of the past year. The Hmong people use this event as an opportunity to educate their young and others who have interest in the tradition. This event begins in homes of Hmong families where the leaders of the house call upon the ancestors for blessings of the new year to every family member. Each family celebrates by feasting on cows, pigs, and chickens. Also, every household invite relatives to come and feast.
The Essay on Loved One Crayon Christmas Family
The Christmas season comes and goes each year, leaving behind a spirit of joy and happiness amongst loved ones. Even if one is unable to be with family on this special holiday, a close knit friend would suffice. In the "Christmas Sketches", Geoffrey Crayon vividly depicts the nature and style of how spending Christmas in the land of his forefathers with an old fellow-traveler sparked an image in ...
After the inside home celebration, the HNY event is organized in public areas for the whole Hmong community to come together and celebrate. In the state of California, there are about eight HNY events that occur annually at various times: Marysville/Yuba, Sacramento, Fresno, Stockton, Chico, Oroville, Merced, and Modesto. Without my mom I wouldn’t have any Hmong clothes to wear to the New Year When people go to any HNY event held around the world they can expect to see a variety of colorful Hmong tradition dresses, expect to enjoy different Hmong traditional foods, and expect to be entertain with traditional Hmong dances, music, pageant, and more.
Also, there are activities and games that anyone can participate in, such as the traditional ball toss game. Aside from enjoying oneself, there are many great things for sale as well. There are traditional clothing, medicine, movies, music CDs, candy, and much more that people can purchase. There are many great things to keep people busy and entertain at every Hmong New Year event, regardless of your age or race which makes this day very special.
A Poem to Mom
You are the sunlight in my day,
You are the moon I see far away.
You are the tree I lean upon,
You are the one that makes troubles be gone.
You are the one who taught me life,
How not to fight, and what is right.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my mom.
You are the one who cares for me,
You are the eyes that help me see.
You are the one who knows me best,
When it’s time to have fun and time to rest.
You are the one who has helped me to dream,
You hear my heart and you hear my screams.
Afraid of life but looking for love,
I’m blessed for God sent you from above.
You are my friend, my heart, and my soul
The Homework on Growing Pains Life Mom Day
I still remember that sad summer day when my storybook life came crashing down. I was washing the mound of dishes that stacked up daily in our kitchen. I didn't mind the dishes because half the time was spent splashing in the water making giant soapy bubbles that were fun to pop. My clothes usually got drenched, but that was okay. My mom drove in the driveway unusually early that day. I noticed ...
You are the greatest friend I know.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my Mom.

A Hmong Female:
Being born into a Hmong my mom tells my sisters and I I think that being born into a Hmong girl is hard. I don’t know how many of Hmong parents out there are still traditional. My parents are very traditional, but at the same time they’re still Americanized too. In the old days women are to please, cook, clean, and obey the men and do as the men say, weather you want too or not. Some Hmong family still follow these tradition elements. Hmong girl have chores such as cook, clean, and take care of younger siblings. If a Hmong boy and a Hmong girl were to get in trouble, the Hmong boy will be more than likely get away with it.
A very good example is when a Hmong girl get pregnant and not marry, that is bringing shame the family/clan, therefore she have to married the guy whether she likes him or not, even if a one night stand. Sometimes if the guy does not want to marry the girl, therefore he just paid a whole some of money to fix the family/clan face and thereafter that is up the choice of the girl to decide if you want to keep the baby or not. If she chooses to keep the baby she can’t gave birth to the baby inside the parents’ house (only in old days, now a day we have hospital).
She has to give birth somewhere else. Some Hmong people are very judgmental they will call the baby “me nyuam ntsau” again that is bringing shame to the family, clan, and Hmong society that is why being born into a Hmong female we have to be very responsible and show our parents the accomplishments we have done so that we have a bright future ahead of us so that our parents can be proud education is the key to success.
