THE POLITICS OF LIGHT
Thomas Jefferson said,”A candle loses nothing when it lights another candle.” True indeed not only with candles but also with people. sharing what we have does not make us less. On the contrary, we multiply ourselves.
The light is a symbol of truth and hope. It makes us see the road we choose to travel. In the absence of light, a leader will have no vision. a blind person cannot lead.
“Walang mahirap kung walang corrupt”. this is the battle cry of the present administration. It is a call for transparency and accountability of Public officials. However, it is unfortunate that energy crises is also in the government’s bureacracy. The culture of Transparency finds a number of impediments among the departments of the government. However, it is slowly changing the government sector. Legal technicalities dewlayed the process of justice and the old political strategy of “impasse” is often employed. Our President needs light to expose what is hidden in the dark hideout of corruption.
We, the voters and Government employees, who share with this vision can give flesh to this vision. To make our task easier, electing people with good character is a necessity. The “who” is an important in our choice of candidates for Public Office. Do their past actions and decision for the good of the people? Who are they with? As the saying goes, “Birds of the same feather flock together.” We are now in the situation that we need leaders that can soar the skies like an eagle not ducks that quack.

The Politics of light is a collaborative effort and decisions of the people anchored on the bedrock principle of doing what is right. The common good is the very essence of politics not the Machiavellian art of deception.. It is the power of Credibility and Integrity of the leaders that can lead us to the straight path of success. Talk is cheap. we have to act now. we will not allow the minorities, the politicians without honor, to steal the good fortune o our children. Let us all unite in sharing our Light for good governance.
Let us sow this idea in the fertile soil of our learning institutions, reecho in the bells of our churches, and watered in every homes.
