Most women at the time of her life had to accept the decision of a man. Antigone looked to a high power for her decisions that were different to the laws enacted by the men of her time. She than lived her life by what she thought was right. Antigone heroism and strength was much more valuable because her goal was so ideal and her life was cut extremely short. Katherine was a foul-tempered and sharp-tongued woman. She insulted and degraded men around her consistently. Due to her independence, she had no desire to be the maiden of a husband.

Though women today are not extremely disobedient, they are extremely independent. The roles of women are continuously changing and they continue to distance themselves from the domination of man. From the stories of these women alone, it is easy to see that women were never completely in submission and were always trying to gain respect for themselves. Though there has not been a female president of the United States, a female priest, or a female athlete in the NFL or NBA, there already are female body builders, females in space, and females in congress.
