Few people have the greatness to bend history, or the ability to change the world, to affect the lives of humanity. Out of the billions of people in this world, only a few will able to do this. Not everyone will be written in history books or have monuments built for them, or streets named after them. This ability to change history is possessed only by a few. But each and every one of us can effect a change in history through the totality of our acts.
Through people’s collective efforts, change can be made to move our world and to write history. The totality of people’s action would be able to move the course of history. For example, a single nation would not be able to effect a change in international relations. But different countries, as United Nations, would be able to effect changes in international policies affecting our lives and thus rewriting our history.
Likewise, a single person would not be able to alter the current environmental status. It takes a collective effort to reduce emissions and it takes more than one hybrid car to lower our earth’s temperature. The success of Barrack Obama, whose campaign was hinged on change and whose presidential success became a monumental page in history was brought about by the acts of millions of Americans, their collective votes, and their united desire to effect change. History is society’s story.

It is not about a single person. It is not simply a biography of special individuals. It is the social situation at a given point of time. It is the collection of the sum individual acts. It is our story and it is co-authored by everyone. And as said by Robert Kennedy, “Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation”
