She lives an inspiring life as a television host, a media mogul and a philanthropist, and is a perfect example of an individual who started poor and disadvantaged but who rose up to adversities and utilized her influence by changing others’ lives for the better. She was born in Mississippi to a poor unwed teenaged mother, was raped at the tender age of nine, and at 14, she gave birth to a son who died in infancy. However, these horrible experiences did not stop her from persevering and from living a normal life. Oprah started a job in radio and gradually rose to fame when she co-anchored a local evening news and later hosted a daytime talk show, which became the highest rated show of its genre in television history. Many years later, she launched her own production company, which became internationally syndicated.
Oprah has been listed as the richest African-American of the 20th century, the most philanthropic African-American of all time, and the world’s only black billionaire for three straight years. All of these things are but proofs that anyone, no matter what race and what background, can be at the top of their league when they just have the will and the determination to become whatever they want. However, more than being an influential and much-admired TV host, what I think is Oprah’s greatest achievement are her good deeds, which touched so many lives, not just in America but all around the globe.

S. -Iraq war, and psychological diseases like anorexia and bulemia. People respect her views regarding various matters and this makes her one of the most influential women in the world. Oprah has done so many great things for humankind and has established so many venues in which she can contribute more to her community.
Aside from her talk show and the Angel Network, her empire has now entered publication – where she has magazines and books – to extend her reach, as well as film production where she produces and sponsors films that she thinks can change lives and opinions for the better.
